GG
It seems like I am getting my ass burned PPP style by a few of you.....thanks for the feedback. Bored at work, saw the link figured it would be a decent PPP style topic, some are buying in to the "bending of the rules" others think its just overseas revenue. IMO it's a grey area that is probably getting exploited to a degree. It is not a grey area. It's very much black & white. When the profits are earned overseas, there is very little incentive to bring those profits to the US because of the high tax rates in the US. KD in CA
I haven't picked up Jack from the media propaganda......... I have been terminated in the past wrongfully and after pursuing some sort of legal avenues the only questions that the lawyer will ask is "are you gay or jewish" if not then theres nothing i can do as this is a RIGHT TO WORK STATE Everyone should be canned for poor performance but theres a little more to it than that. I am in a decent place now but have lost 2 jobs for uber questionable reasons that would not have happened in non RIGHT TO WORK states. GEICO and HSBC ftr.... if you want me to name names. Canned twice from two separate companies but of course it has nothing to do with you or your performance? Oh brother.......is this going to be like the Steely Dan story where he eventually admitted he was fired for choking a female co-worker? So go ahead, give us the full details (or at least your version of them)..... And while you're doing that, why do you think that an employer should be forced to retain you no matter what the reason? Can an employer force you to not quit? Why do you think you deserve more rights than the organization writing the checks?
Maury Ballstein
keep assuming KD in CT.......you know what they say about people that assume? my reasons are already on the page..............appreciate your naysaying tone in regards to my work ethic and employment history... Steely Dan aint got shhhhhhhh on me, bro! haaaaa theres my side...............maybe you can dig deep and expose the real truths? or you can acknowledge that you are not familiar with Virginia and the way we work around Hea..... IDBillzFan
In Virginia it's a right to work state and a commonwealth so the employers have all the power here and the worker has zero rights (unless they were fired for being gay or jewish/arab/etc) Ridiculous. Maybe if they called it a "Right Not To Work" state it would make more sense to you. That you find yourself powerless again a company speaks volumes of your value to a company. Let me guess; you're in at 8 and out at 5. Lunch starts precisely at noon and ends precisely at 1. You're the last one to step up for more work and the first one to complain about the company Christmas party. You're the last one to stay late to help finish a big project but the first one to make sure you use every sick day. You're the last one to look over your work twice but the first one to look at your watch to see when it's time to go home. The next time some mindless progressive yells about a "conspiracy theory" when I talk about how there are too many takers in this country, I hope you'll show up to support my claim. Ask any sales manager if he replaced a top 5% performer because the commissions were too high or if there was another risk associated with that salesperson. Here's a cold, hard fact, Scooter. I've spent a good part of my career running a sales force and you would have to be an incompetent dolt to fire a top sales person. When people make too much money, you adjust commissions before you randomly fire top performers. Why would any competent sales manager intentionally cut his own income by intentionally firing a top performer and replacing him/her with two people who would bring in less money. Unless, y'know, your top performer brought other problems that negated his/her value to the company. But I'm sure that wasn't your case. You just randomly had two people fire you because you were really good at your job. Got it.

Great overtime worker. Fired twice. Yeah, I'm sure we're not missing any information. KD in CA
So let's recap: Top 5 sales person. Great attendance. Great trainer. Great overtime worker. Fired twice. Yeah, I'm sure we're not missing any information. The world is filled with unemployed top 5 sales people with great attendance, training skills and work ethic who were fired on one occasion for doing their job and on the other occasion for showing up to work four hours late. Happens all the time. I've never met a top 5 saleperson that didn't show up 4 hours late at least 1/2 the time. That's the whole appeal to being a sales guy -- you come an go as you please and no one give a damn cause you make your #s. Now it sounds like Ryan is more of a telesales guy so his productivity is probably limited to the time his ass is in the chair, but even still, no one is going to quibble with a top sales guy over hours absent other issues. It just doesn't happen. yup.....you have never lost a job ever huh? fired 2x in 15 years...........I'm a real Jamarcus Russell type. Poisonous to companies, just a bad seed. Yup; twice in 15 years too. But I didn't go crying about it or blame 'right to work' laws for my own flaws or for economic issues that forced the issue. Maury Ballstein
you two keep tapping each other on the butt with your kudos against my open book stories. so you mean to tell me if you get fired for showing up on time your aren't going to say anything? REALLY? to quote SNL seth meyers REALLY? thanks for listening you two........both of you can go back to clubbing seals or whatever it is you do. it's been informative. i need to take responsibility for my actions and quit blaming the right to work law defects which would have sent me right back to the job in HSBC's case in a decent state with a normal law against unfair termination. To be fired for someone else's aloofness doesn't sit well with me. But i guess i really need to look in the mirror and get to the root of the problem
Joe Miner
I guarantee there's more to the story you are telling. If I was an attorney and you came to me with this complaint, I wouldn't help you either. I'd probably give you some lame response that absolves me from taking your case. Something like: "there's nothing I can do as this is a right to work state" would probably work well.
