Certainly can't argue with any of the great suggestions given. Any male crooner/singer is fine by me

 

I particularly applaud the Mills Brother, Cab Calloway, Louis Armstrong suggestions.

 

Don't overlook Al Jolson or Eddie Cantor, corny to most (going by today's so-called standards), but some really nice music there.

Tis. 1959. Kind of Blue blew me away the first time I heard it. Kind of Blue got me hooked on jazz upon that first listen. To think that the whole album was improv is incredible. Amazing album
