Jim in Anchorage Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 We had a very very old antenna amp in Ohio. When the Bills and Colts were in the AFCE we'd set up an anetenna amp and wrap wire literally around the house and outside and up the third story/attic, and around the roof to get channels in Toledo from Indianapolis/Ft. Wayne to view the Bills games. Bills games? I used to spend hours on the roof fine tuning the antenna to get the French porn flicks from Canada.
Donald Duck Posted March 10, 2013 Author Posted March 10, 2013 The fact that you can't find anything about it online leads me to believe you were reading an advertisement. Companies have been hiding them to look like real news for quite awhile -- Jack asked if it said "Advertisement" was on the page and I'm thinking it probably was, even if you missed it. They're very subtle nowadays. Jack actually found the site online if you refer back to his post.

Jim in Anchorage Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 (edited) Lordy I remember those. CITY tv out of Toronto if I remember correctly..late night on Saturday. Sounds right. Yeah it was late at night because my parents where always asleep when I was on the roof desperately tweaking the antenna trying to see a snow free nipple. Edited March 10, 2013 by Jim in Anchorage
boyst Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 22B was playboy. When I was 10 it would work. Then I was 12 and the internet came out, I didn't need to try to pick up Windsor stations.
Just Jack Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Okay Dog, let's break this down. you saw what you thought was a good deal and wanted to share with us - thank you for that was it an article or an ad? - it's an ad, somewhere on the page in small print, usually around the border should be written "ADVERTISEMENT". I've seen the ad you saw in my local paper before. It ranks right up there with the "Free Amish Fireplace" (which I find really funny with the pictures of Amish people since they do not like having their picture taken) and the "Free gold proof set from the Federal Reserve". - does the product work? Yes, but there are other alternatives you can buy locally and not have to wait for it to be shipped http://www.bestbuy.com/site/RCA+-+Indoor+HDTV+Antenna+-+White/8939839.p?id=1215217075905&skuId=8939839&st=antenna&cp=1&lp=2 http://www.walmart.com/ip/GE-Flat-Panel-Amplified-Antenna/20977395 http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11694069&filterName=Type&filterValue=HDTV - what's so great about Clear Cast? it includes suction cups so you can attach it to a window - how many channels can one expect to pick up over the air (OTA)? currently I'm living between two TV markets, one I get 18 channels, the other I get 7. Your reception may vary. UConn Jim can help provide links and sites if you want to look more into going cable free. I did it over a year ago and an happy with it. - but it was made by a NASA Scientist so were these inventions - GPS, Satellite Radio, DirecTV, LEDs, Hang gliders, cordless tools. These are all listed on their Hall Of Fame website. All this guy did was come up with a different form factor for the antenna.

Just Jack Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 The converter box for my non cable TV has died. Would buying this allow me to get local channels? No, you need to either buy a new converter, or a new TV with a digital tuner.
