for what it's worth: teams are allowed to only contact prospective free agent players (other than their own), and are limited to only dealing with their agents. no contracts, as a result, can be signed until Tuesday. as well, teams are not allowed to discuss or arrange travel plans with prospective free agents (other than their own).

JW, are you hearing whether the Bills have interest in and are still in the running for Levitre? That link to the Tennessean blog is the first that I have heard of continued interest by the Bills in Levitre.

"The Browns are expected to be among the most active teams in free agency, and have expressed interest in signing Ellerbe, as well as other Ravens free agents OLB Paul Kruger and CB Cary Williams. Ellerbe would be an ideal fit in Ray Horton's 3-4 defense. He's believed to be seeking $6 million annually"

"ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi believes the Browns are "resigned" to putting Brandon Weeden on a one-year trial with the new coaching regime.

This coincides with what the Cleveland Plain Dealer speculated earlier this week. The Browns have vowed to bring in competition for Weeden, but they will struggle to find an upgrade in the draft or free agency. Derek Anderson, Ryan Mallett, Matt Flynn, and Matt Cassel have all been linked as possible targets."

Not sure if this was previously posted...

FOX Sports confirms the Dolphins are the "lead dog" in the Mike Wallace sweepstakes, and that Wallace "prefers warm weather." :wallbash:

Per reporter Alex Marvez, Wallace is expected to draw "multiple offers" worth between $11-$12 million per season. It's clear the Dolphins are primed to be Wallace's most aggressive suitor, but we wouldn't put much stock in his supposed weather preference. Who truly "prefers" cold weather? It would be stunning if Wallace left even a little money on the table because Miami is a better place to take an evening stroll in the winter. Miami's temperate climate should only be a factor if Wallace is weighing equal offers.

http://www.kffl.com/hotw/nfl is not as breaking as it used to be now that Twitter matches its pace.

Anyway, I looked at Daryl Smith and looks like he could be headed to NJG.

Browns looking to add Ellerbe, Desmond Bryant, Brandon Myers, Eldeman and DRC, Keenan Lewis, as well. James Harrison has been quoted saying he'd go to the mistake by the lake as well.

Pats, Giants, Cowboys, Cardinals looking to land Cribbs.

Bills may have interest in WR Brandon Gibson

Not interested in Titus Young

D.Nelson was seen running routes and there could be an offer for him yet.

Caussin was resigned to a deal. I did not see this anywhere else yet.

Ok so what I am gatheering so far.......is that the Dolphins, Brown, and Cheifs want everyone.

I think the Browns are gonna get a couple marquee guys- they are almost $50 mil under the cap.

Gotta at least get an Edelman or something. The receiving core is barren. It's Stevie and TJ "Straight Line" Graham. And nothing whatsoever at Tight End. Can't fill all of these needs in the draft.

Rumor mill has it they did contact Amendola's reps...we shall see.

Interesting that we're hearing all these rumors and stories of contact with agents but today Ross Tucker tweeted "Tampering period is just weird. FA player told me his agent heard more at combine. Teams calling asking how other teams acting."

Which one is it?

Sorry if this has already been posted:

According to a report by the Tennessean the Tennessee Titans are in pursuit of Levitre with additional reports suggesting the San Diego Chargers and Chicago Bears have also expressed interest. Indianapolis has been mentioned as a team interested in Levitre’s services too.

Naturally the Bills are also still vying to retain Levitre before he hits the free agent market officially on Tuesday afternoon.

The Chargers interest, which was reported by San Diego Union-Tribune reporter Kevin Acee makes sense for a couple of reasons. Levitre is a native of Santa Cruz, CA and the Chargers also employ Bills former offensive line coach Joe D’Alessandris as their new offensive line coach under new head coach Mike McCoy. D’Alessandris served in the same capacity under former Bills head coach Chan Gailey.
