Darin, I still would like to know the real answer to the question.

You have any idea? I know you got your smartass comments out of the way, so any chance you know the answer?

I am interested because last night I went to pick up two frineds from the airport. Turns out their flight was late, so when I pulled up to the curb (where there is NO parking) I got on the cell phone. He said he had juuust landed... would be at least 20 minutes. While Im talking to him, a Palm Beach Sheriff comes up to my car, blows a whistle as loud as he can and tells me to move. I told him " I am"... he said "Move now" and tapped my drive door with his hand. Then yelled "go, go , go!"..

mind you this was at 10:45.. there was NO traffic at all (honestly three cars). I just wanted to say "listen, a**hole, i know you are pissed that after passing that test to become sheriff, that you're pissed that you only get to blow a whistle at people to move their cars, but dont be pissed at me, and don't touch my !@#$ car"... oh course, i didn't (like i said, never been arrested... but could he have done anything had I said that?

Yeah, that's a better example of the kind of sheeat I'm talking about........sometimes you get cops who like to throw around their "authority" because they are on some ego trip or perhaps due to some insecurity they have.

Oddly enough, though, one time I showed up at traffic court to dispute a speeding ticket, and the cop met me just before court began. It was almost as though he was desperate to reach some sort of settlement agreement with me before we went before the judge. I never did take the time to figure out why he would even care about that......it was werid.

I really don't know. I understand the frustration. I have friends who are cops and sometimes they tell stories about some of the stuff they pull and I just want to kick them in the nuts. Still, I always consider the hassle factor and the fact that they can stick me in a cell for 24 hours for pretty much no reason...
