26CornerBlitz Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 (edited) @ProFootballWkly Per @howardeskin, the #Eagles will release CB Nnamdi Asomugha today. Should the Bills take a look given the lack of CB talent and depth? Edited March 12, 2013 by 26CornerBlitz
mrags Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 In a heartbeat. As to being able to affording him, he is not as good as his contract and that's why he's being released. He will be much cheaper than what the Eagles paid.
26CornerBlitz Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 @ProFootballWkly CB Nnamdi Asomugha, 31, signed a 5-year, $60 million deal with the #Eagles in July 2011. Has 71 career passes defensed, 15 interceptions.
Mr. WEO Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 This and the (likely) trade of Revis will finally put an end to the strange habit of GMs paying top QB money to CBs. It never made any sense.
PaattMaann Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 This and the (likely) trade of Revis will finally put an end to the strange habit of GMs paying top QB money to CBs. It never made any sense. revis likely being traded? latest I heard from ESPN was that Jets were confident in being able to resolve all contract issues....has there been a change/movement recently? I dont disagree with you about overpaid CBs though....its insane
Doc Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 This and the (likely) trade of Revis will finally put an end to the strange habit of GMs paying top QB money to CBs. It never made any sense. Um, no. Revis will be making bank with whatever team trades for him.
26CornerBlitz Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 @kfishbain With Asmougha expected to hit the market, Revis supposedly to be traded, and a deep CB draft class, it's a good offseason to need a corner.
aristocrat Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Bills need to sell some tix and this would be the way to do it.
ganesh Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 This and the (likely) trade of Revis will finally put an end to the strange habit of GMs paying top QB money to CBs. It never made any sense. They paid for Deion Sanders and Champ Bailey and they were very good for a long time.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I'm predicting he'll go back to the Bay Area and play for the Niners. For the most part, unless we outbid all other teams, we're not getting free agents.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Not only did he play for the Raiders but he also played at Cal. Niners need corners. Match made in heaven.
inkman Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Bills need to sell some tix and this would be the way to do it. I'm fairly certain most Bills fans couldn't pronounce his name let alone get excited enough to buy tickets to see Assmuncha play CB
NoSaint Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Not only did he play for the Raiders but he also played at Cal. Niners need corners. Match made in heaven. and wouldnt cost draft picks and would be getting back to a man scheme that he excels in
Mango Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 This and the (likely) trade of Revis will finally put an end to the strange habit of GMs paying top QB money to CBs. It never made any sense. this could actually end the niners trade with the jets if they sign him, not that there aren't other bidders for revis
RuntheDamnBall Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Not only did he play for the Raiders but he also played at Cal. Niners need corners. Match made in heaven. Gosh, if they can get him and use the picks to address other needs - monster trade for a WR? - what a coup. If I were SF I might go nuts and just offer a bucketload of picks to Detroit, Cincy or AZ and see if anyone bites to deal their all-world WR.
KGun12TD Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 and he will go to the Patsies to try and win the big one...why bother!
KD in CA Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Maybe the Jets will sign him now. Remember how much they wanted him and Reavis to play together? lol
ny33 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 This and the (likely) trade of Revis will finally put an end to the strange habit of GMs paying top QB money to CBs. It never made any sense. Multiple CBs this offseason will get Brandon Carr money.
