The Big Cat Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Anyone that thought that they weren't likely to do so before was just indulging in wishful thinking. As far as signing Carson goes I guess it can't hurt. They need someone to throw out there as the starter. We won't sign him. Not that we wouldn't have some interest, but he held out because he was sick of Cincinnati. No way he signs in Buffalo. It'll he Arizona. He'll be a stopgap for anyone with the misfortune of being in this year's QB draft derby. That includes us, Arizona, may be even Jax. Whoever gets him forgoes the first round QB they were otherwise tethered to. Assuming he can still play.
judman Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 That's an old article though. Don't you think it would have happened by now? Shoot, missed that. Nice catch. I was wondering why I didn't see it anywhere else.
Captain Hindsight Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 If true what an awful trade that turned out to be the Raiders. They gave up a ton for a middle of the road QB Before yesterday I would have said no to this but for a year or two he might be worth it. Tavaris Jackson as our best QB is downright scary. I'm more than willing to bet that whoever we draft is our starter by week 6
Solomon Grundy Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 (edited) Better than TJax and Fitz! Stopgap, yes! Edited March 13, 2013 by the skycap
Bangarang Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Geno Smith to the Raiders at 3 Matt Barkley to the Cardinals at 7 Tyler Wilson to the Bills at 8. Meh
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Unless the Bills really want to tank the season, they have to get another vet at QB (and Aaron Corp doesn't count). I have a feeling, however, that Palmer is going to demand too much money.
The Big Cat Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Geno Smith to the Raiders at 3 Matt Barkley to the Cardinals at 7 Tyler Wilson EJ Manuel to the Bills at 8. Meh Fixed. They'll laugh...oh, they'll laugh. And when he hoists the Lombardi Trophy, we'll be the ones laughing.
filthymcnasty08 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Geno Smith to the Raiders at 3 Matt Barkley to the Cardinals at 7 Tyler Wilson to the Bills at 8. Meh Meh indeed. I'd rather go with EJ in the 2nd.... draft a stud OL or #1 WR at #8 and KEEP SIGNING FA's
Bangarang Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Meh indeed. I'd rather go with EJ in the 2nd.... draft a stud OL or #1 WR at #8 and KEEP SIGNING FA's It's almost guaranteed that EJ will be taken before we pick in the 2nd. We either take someone at 8 or be left with the table scraps in the 2nd.
Chicago_Mike Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Sign him. Draft a QB this year or next. This could a good stopgap that can keep us somewhat competitive.
ChevyVanMiller Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 The fact that the report is from March 8th would seem to indicate that the Raiders are keeping him. One things they would have cut him yesterday to give him a fair shot with other teams before any FA dollars were spent.
youngjebrey Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Per Adam Schefter twitter- @AdamSchefter: Interesting: now "highly unlikely" Carson Palmer will be willing to restructure his contract meaning OAK pays him $13 million or cuts him. //// Should the Bills make an offer if Oakland says no?
ALF Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Carson is 33, above $5 million I think would be too much, not more then 6th rd pick for trade IMO
Max997 Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Per Adam Schefter twitter- @AdamSchefter: Interesting: now "highly unlikely" Carson Palmer will be willing to restructure his contract meaning OAK pays him $13 million or cuts him. //// Should the Bills make an offer if Oakland says no? Why?
I_want_2_BILL_Lieve Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Fitz backed him up in Cincinnati. As I recall, Fitz called Cason something along the line of a practice hog, as in he took ALL of the reps. Not the kind of guy to bring in if you are planning to draft a QB this year or next. I like Palmer, I think he'd be an upgrade for us. But I think he's a bad fit for us, even at a bargain price.
Meathead Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 bills wont be interested in palmer. theyre committed to a rookie, theyve got their veteran backup, another vet would just tie up space and money
BuffaloBill Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 No thanks. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed for Mark Sanchez CBF Have we sunk this far? I have no interest in another retread QB.
holmz56 Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Get the o-line built for next year ,throw the season like the Colts did and then draft your franchise QB !
