Rob's House Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 When it comes to player salaries the NFL is a zero sum game (more or less). Everyone is subject to the salary cap. There's not enough cap room in the league to accommodate all the demands of the FAs on the market. Some will find desperate team's w/ foolish GMs that will overpay for their services, but most of these guys will ultimately sign for significantly less than their asking price.

This is crazy. How much is Levitre going to get on the open market? I think if you look at the numbers, OG is not a "specialized" position and does not command a ridiculous sum. Odd when comparing to a punter, but true.

I would probably sign Levitre and pass on Woods next year. I really like Woods, but two major leg injuries makes me wonder whether his career will be shortened by past injuries or future injuries.

Is everyone gonna repeat their already oft-repeated predictions on how much it'll cost to re-sign Andy? Sorry but it's getting to be a bit much. Plus the cap is flattening out for a the next few years. Teams are strapped and the FA sticker prices will drop.

This is a big part of why I think the Bills should be frugal. A lot of teams are getting themselves cash strapped long term. Teams that are good at assessing value will stand to capitalize over the next few seasons.

Well...If the decision comes down to Levitre or Wood at OBD, chances are they would be wrong in the long-run regardless of which one they chose...That's the way it's been going for a while now...
