meazza
http://www.universetoday.com/100339/tito-wants-to-send-married-couple-on-mars-flyby-mission/ Millionaire and space tourist Dennis Tito announced his plans for funding a commercial mission to Mars, and the mission will send two professional crew members – one man and one woman who will likely be a married couple – flying as private citizens on a “fast, free-return” mission, passing within 100 miles of Mars before swinging back and safely returning to Earth. The spacecraft will likely be tinier than a small Winnebago recreational vehicle. Target launch date is Jan. 5, 2018. One things for sure, they will not be a married couple when they come back. BillsWatch
Not that I'd be able to get my wife to volunteer but we will be married 25 years this year and confident we would be married when we came back. If there are no married couples you know who would be married then it sounds like knowing you is the factor. Do not get any new married friends. DC Tom
http://www.universet...-flyby-mission/ One things for sure, they will not be a married couple when they come back. I asked my wife. She replied that doesn't even like making a "fast, free-return" trip to the grocery store with me.
mrags
It's like a 4 year trip or something like that isn't it? Edit: just read- 500 days. Either way. It's not a small amount of time in a camper with 1 person. FWIW: I read a few months back about how NASA or some space agency set up a small ship environment for 250+ days for the way there, a few days outside of the ship and another 250+ back. It was a group of 6 people I think and 2 of them were not so good upon return. Sounded like there was some serious jealousy over women on the trip, and cabin fever of all sorts. Dibs
Round trip to Mars with your wife Is that a euphemism for something? (Cue Uranus jokes in 3, 2, 1...)
boyst
I could probably do it solo... I am pretty sure of that, as long as I have Skype or something to chat with with folks once in a while. As far as with a woman, I do not know if I have ever met a woman I have ever wanted to spend more then 2 weeks in a row with. The few that I might have never worked out so they're ruled out. Obviously you're the problem because there is a poster in this thread who has been married for 25 years.

Lucky guy, hard to see that anymore. My grandparents were married 58 years. My parents have barely been married for 38 years.
Best Player Available
Earplugs, a complete tunes collection, and a 6 year supply of Belvedere and Crown . Then, it's doable. Hidden and out of the way.Just for the lady, during the rough patches. A machine that can generate, chocolates or some flowers.
DC Tom
Worst part would be coming back and finding out that the Bills are still rebuilding.

He keeps screaming at dates for flicking cigarette butts. Then he wants to wrestle.
Just Jack
If you can survive a trip to the grocery store with your wife, then your a better man than me. Its rough out there I had to teach my ex how to grocery shop. Oh, she could make a list and organize the coupons fine, but when it came to being in the store, ugh. Get first item on list. Then head to other end of store to get second item, then back to the entrance for the third item, rinse, repeat. Seems she did it that way because it was easier to keep track of what she already picked up, instead of crossing stuff off, or arranging the list in the order you'd find it in the store.
