Damond Talbot Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 (edited) What do you guys think? I posted and article today on NFL Draft Zone dot Com and I thought you guys would see what the Franchise prices are for 2013. The OL is 9 million while the S is only 6.9 million. So this is my question, if you can't sign both of them which would you rather franchise? Edited February 26, 2013 by Damond Talbot

It's in My Blood Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Byrd..i cant believe this is even up for debate.
Gugny Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 They need to figure out how to keep both of them. Period. I don't care who gets tagged. They both need to be on the roster.
VABills Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Cut them both. If they haven't signed by now we don't want these selfish bastards.
Dibs Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Cut them both. If they haven't signed by now we don't want these selfish bastards. Agreed! We might want to use the tag on a player that actually wants to play in Buffalo.
NewEra Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 You can blame guys for wanting to be a FA. Especially considering they play for the worst team in the nfl over the last 13 years. Just because they don't want to sign before they come a FA doesn't mean Buffalo isn't their 1st option. 1st option is one thing. Getting paid is another. It's a business, they want the mister signing bonus. I can't blame them. To answer the question, its obvious to me that Byrd is the Likely Franchise tag candidate. I would never let that guy leave. He's a badass IMO.
BobDVA Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 The fact of the matter, is there are a ton of FA safeties on the market, Ed Reed, Kenny Phillips, Charles Woodson, LeRon Landry, Dashon Goldson, Will Allen, Chris Crocker. Any one of them can help out for a year or two. But there is only one top flight guard, Andy Levitre. If it had to be, Aaron Williams can be made into that stop gap free safety for a year, but there is no replacing Levitre without wasting a first or second round draft pick. The answer is you franchise Levitre, and offer Byrd 7 million and hope he takes it.

Square up LT, C, RT and put a big fat ass who can play decent and keep 330lb DT's off your QB and move on. When he wants a ton of jack say 'Thank you for your service' and move on. Guards are NOT hard to find.
eball Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 A star S is more impactful than a star OG. Byrd has accounted for oodles of turnovers in his first four seasons. You don't let that guy leave.
Malazan Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I keep the same position I have in the other 67329828432382923822387873472364264324632742743298409589238747492874093284023840375837479687909817y982786723196738294386458467645788937479873538467329828432382923822387873472364264324632742743298409589238747492874093284023840375837479687909817y982786723196738294386458467645788937479873538467329828432382923822387873472364264324632742743298409589238747492874093284023840375837479687909817y982786723196738294386458467645788937479873538467329828432382923822387873472364264324632742743298409589238747492874093284023840375837479687909817y9827867231967382943864584676457889374798735384977384793743843wow,thisthreadagain67329828432382923822387873472364264324632742743298409589238747492874093284023840375837479687909817y982786723196738294386458467645788937479873538467329828432382923822387873472364264324632742743298409589238747492874093284023840375837479687909817y982786723196738294386458467645788937479873538467329828432382923822387873472364264324632742743298409589238747492874093284023840375837479687909817y9827867231967382943864584676457889374798735384 threads on this topic. Keep Byrd. Levitre is a bonus.
buffalobillsgrl Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I still think we need Levitre more. Safety to me seems a lot easier to come by. However, it is obviously more economic to franchise Byrd. I want both.........and it best happen!
buffalobillsgrl Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Quick question unrelated to byrd and levitre. With exclusive rights free agents........do we have to wait until the 12th for them as well. To sign or talk?

CardinalScotts Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 I'm honestly amazed anyone said LeVitre - you can't find a guard, a failed center, a failed tackle to stick at Guard ? Ball Hawking safeties are hard to find and when you have one you keep him.
NoSaint Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 (edited) Are nomorelinks.com links now banished too? Edit: ill take that changed address as a yes that the sites been banished. If marrone follows the Sean Payton school of offensive line building, he will value guards over tackles Edited February 27, 2013 by NoSaint
