Dawgg Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 NFL beat writers are now reporting that the Bills have Tavon Austin #1 on their draft board. Perhaps the Bills are smarter than I thought they were capable, baiting a team to trade up to get him.

Kelly the Dog Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 The same guy that reported it, Ian Rappaport, 30 minutes later said "Now I'm hearing the Bills are taking Nassib at #8". I heard both of those reports live.
bills1960 Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 A. If he were so high on our board, we wouldn't want to move down. B. This comes an hour or so after Rex Ryan claims he "has a plan for Austin". Coincidental? No way.
nucci Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 How does anyone know this? I don't mind this stuff but everything you read is pure speculation.
Joaquin1119 Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 This is the time, where you have to lie so other teams can think that you are going after that person.. This is going to be my first time missing the draft pick this year because i work second shift =/
KOKBILLS Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 As bad as the Bills FO has been at times over the past few years, I don't see them being a team that allows this type of info to leak unless it's erroneous in an attempt to push activity for Austin...If they truly do have Austin as the #1 player in this Draft we're all here talking for nothing...Because if so, this is the worst Scouting Staff in Football, and this team is flat out screwed...
C.Biscuit97 Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Ah, the throw enough stuff at the wall style journalism. These "reporters" probably just got in chatrooms or twitter to get there information. For instance, my #1 hot chick board (besides my girlfriend) switches every time I watch a movie. I pray Nix is just hyping teams to move up. Because if little Travon is really the pick at #8, dear Lord, the most positive Bills fan ever will flip.
Stormin Norman Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Would it not be catastrophic / tragic if the Bills drafted another Roscoe Parrish-type dude with a number one pick? You know. the type of player with the durability of a Buffalo School Board President?

I think that is precisely what they are doing. They know the Jets want them and they sit in a very good position. Trading down not only keeps him out of the division, it would allow them to get an extra pick or two and get more value from the draft. Let's hope it gets done.

Nitro Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I smell a rat here. NY Jets were rumored to be interested in Tavon Austin a week ago. Word "leaked" out of NY Jets camp that they were poss interested in Nassib. Why do that? IF SF wants to trade into the top 10 to get an impact player, Austin maybe it and to thwart the Bills from making a trade, the Jets start the rumor on Nassib. This pre draft espionage, subterfuge and false leads happen every year.

yungmack Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 TheBills already have a Tavon Austin-style receiver in Graham (& his return talent is covered by McKelvin). What the Bills need, & what Buddy wants, is a big boy receiver.
26CornerBlitz Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Would it not be catastrophic / tragic if the Bills drafted another Roscoe Parrish-type dude with a number one pick? You know. the type of player with the durability of a Buffalo School Board President? Austin is like the 2nd coming of Darren Sproles IMO. It would be a mistake to draft this guy with Spiller on the roster. Hope they're just drumming up interest in trading down.
C.Biscuit97 Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Need pictures of the girlfriend. Can she run a 10 yard out? If we breakup, I will post them. And she is more of a Randy Moss deep threat type. Austin is like the 2nd coming of Darren Sproles IMO. It would be a mistake to draft this guy with Spiller on the roster. Hope they're just drumming up interest in trading down. Sproles is a beast but he is 5'6" 190 lbs. Martin is 5'8" 173 lbs.
dollars 2 donuts Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) "Boy, I just keep hearing so much about this 'Fünke'!" ...some will get it, some won't. Edited April 25, 2013 by dollars 2 donuts
26CornerBlitz Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) Sproles is a beast but he is 5'6" 190 lbs. Martin is 5'8" 173 lbs. Relatively close in stature. Austin, like Sproles will take on the multi-dimensional threat role on whatever team selects him. Just like the Saints use Sproles in the return game, running the ball, and as a passing game matchup nightmare against Linebackers. Edited April 25, 2013 by 26CornerBlitz
Dr. Trooth Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 It's OK to lie the month leading up to the draft, the Budster said so
buffaloboyinATL Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I honestly wouldn't mind the pick but I really believe we are baiting the Rams to trade up into the 8 spot. Of course it could backfire and they could jump to 6 or 7 to get ahead of us. I love the psychology of the draft.
