stevestojan Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Searched and didn't see this story on here but it's one of the grossest stroies I've ever heard. Sorry if it was posted. Apparently this girl went missing and her body was found in the Hotel's water tank, decomposing for weeks, contaminating the drinking and shower water. Grossest quote ever?: "Strange things began happening with the hotel's water supply later in the month, according to Sabina and Michael Baugh, a British couple who spent eight days there until checking out Wednesday. The water pressure dropped to a trickle at times. "The shower was awful," Sabina Baugh said. "When you turned the tap on, the water was coming black first for two seconds and then it was going back to normal." The tap water "tasted horrible," Baugh said. "It had a very funny, sweety, disgusting taste. It's a very strange taste. I can barely describe it."" http://www.cnn.com/2013/02/21/us/california-hotel-water-corpse/index.html?hpt=hp_c3
truth on hold Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Don't get those low daily/weekly rates at hotel Cecil for nothing!
KD in CA Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 That's pretty nasty. Interesting place to dump a body; you'd have to think someone killed her in the hotel. Otherwise why risk dragging a body to that bizarre spot. And if she was on her way to Santa Cruz, why did she stop and spend several nights in a seedy hotel in LA?
NoSaint Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 video of her in the elevator the night she disappeared http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeW-3qEJ27o
Rob's House Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I've got a lingering hangover today. That article almost made me vomit.
truth on hold Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 (edited) Here's the video where she was last seen in the hotel elevator. Very weird. At first looks like she's hiding from someone, then later she exits and makes some dance-type gestures as if she were playing with someone. And why did the elevator door stay open so long, and not go to other floors after she pressed the buttons? Was someone who had access to the elevator controls stalking her? Maintenance guy for building? Could explain how she ended up in water tank too Edited February 21, 2013 by Joe_the_6_pack

After seeing that, there could be a case made that she was just tripping balls. Which might also explain how she got herself into the tank if in fact it was an accident.
NoSaint Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Yeah, I don't understand why the doors never closed either, unless she hit the hold button. After seeing that, there could be a case made that she was just tripping balls. Which might also explain how she got herself into the tank if in fact it was an accident. The tank was also supposed to be behind locked access with an alarm, and if you've seen photos - it's a pretty snug entrance. If she was way drugged out and the hotel poorly maintained- it's still very possible, but my guess is she was in a vulnerable state and met someone sketchy along the way. Couple of famous murders at this hotel.

boyst Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 It would have been more noteworthy news if the drinking water was not contaminated...

Id say its a toss now whether foul play was involved or she was out of it and somehow got herself in there. If there was an alarm it wasn't working if she did it, and if it was working and someone knew how to disable it, that further argues for a building technician involved in foul play. However dragging a body up that tank wherein theyd be in view of the adjacent taller buildings argues against foul play. Thats why Im @ 50/50 at the moment Edited February 22, 2013 by Joe_the_6_pack
mrags Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 This story absolutely makes me sick to my stomach. The thought of brushing my teeth with that water or drinking it. Ugh!!! That YouTube video is weird, strange and absolutely creepy. At first it looks like she's hiding from someone. Creeped out maybe. A possibility she met someone that maybe drugged her and she was trying to get away from them. Or maybe she was just high. Or just weird. Very strange story. Disgusting. And one creepy video. That some ghost type s*#t right there.
thebug Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Anyone know the whereabouts of Marshawn Lynch when this happened?
Meathead Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 (edited) guests who drank the water complained of being hungry a half hour later Edited February 22, 2013 by Meathead
Buftex Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 (edited) A couple of years ago, here in Austin, there was weird story. A girl, who worked at a hotel "disappered" after her shift one night. Everyone was out looking for her. Signs everywhere. In the ensuing weeks, hotel guests, and employees, started complaining of foul odors...they couldn't figure out what it was. Ended up, the girl, tried to crawl through a vent to the steak-house next door (attached to the hotel) to meet up with some of her friends that worked there. The resteraunt was closed, but her friends were still there doing clean-up. Apparently, it wasn't uncommon for them to meet up this way...and go out for drinks afterwards. Somehow she got stuck...sad thing is, she was probably there for a while before she passed away...it never dawned on her friends at the steak-house to tell anyone to check for her...likely because they didn't want to get fired from their job. Thats why Im @ 50/50 at the moment im rather curious to learn more - im on the fence too... to wax on each side some: on the murder side, there shouldve been locks, alarms, and if youve seen the tanks they are none too appealing a destination and the opening at the top was pretty small. i guess she couldve been trying to hide from someone (real or imagined). on the accident side, i read that you had to even go up a ladder to get to the tanks, plus as you mention they are widely visible to the surrounding buildings. i cant imagine a guy carrying dead weight up there for fun. perhaps he forced her up there alive though? also, to help put it in perspective - the other side you can clearly see the sign originally said low hourly rates but had been painted over with daily. talking to someone in LA - this building is split with two halves under the same ownership. The Cecil tends to be borderline homeless people that are one government check from the street and the other half has been renovated to more like a hostel, and they share a lobby on the ground level. they apparently have been trying to improve the cecil but have been met with a lot of permitting issues and such. a couple high profile murders there. the grossest part being the hotel remained open after finding her and just told people to avoid the water but didnt say why Edited February 22, 2013 by NoSaint
