Peter Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Jets begin cuts. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/02/19/jets-start-dumping-salaries/
BillsFanForever19 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Let the Eric Smith countdown begin.
26CornerBlitz Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 @JasonLaCanfora Jets start working to get under cap, announcing release of J Smith, E Smith and C Pace, as expected. Bart Scott could easily be next
buffalobillsgrl Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 And now bart scott via ian rapaport
Kelly the Dog Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I think Erik Smith will be signed lickety-split. I'm not sure I want Bart Scott, unless we got him pretty cheap. He's better than we have, but he shouldn't be paid starter salary for what he seems to deliver these days.
26CornerBlitz Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 @ProFootballTalk Jets cut LB Bart Scott, who instantly becomes a free agent and could join Mike Pettine in Buffalo http://wp.me/p14QSB-7jPq
Hotpockets28 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 (edited) Wouldnt mind bart scott only if he comes cheap...honestly only ex jets players I would like, buffalo to sign is laron landry SS to make a awsome tandem with byrdman...and dustin keller TE.... I'll pass on Landry. He couldn't cover a crockpot. If Dustin Keller is available I'd definitely bring him in.

Don't Landry and Byrd play the same Safety position?
Kelly the Dog Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Don't Landry and Byrd play the same Safety position? The immediate answer is no, not really. Landry would be considered more of a physical strong safety, and Byrd a free safety. But I think I read that in Pettine's defense, the safeties are somewhat interchangeable.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I would wager both Scott and Smith end up here.
Billy in 4C Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Let's load up on players from a 6-10 team!! Get er done
NoSaint Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Let's load up on the most expendable and overpriced players from a 6-10 team!! Get er done
Dean Cain Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 All these guys do nothing for us long term. Adding them defies the logic of dumping Barnett, McGee, & hopefully Kelsay. Let the youth movement begin.
The Big Cat Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Let's load up on players from a 6-10 team!! Get er done Does it change things that they also played on a team that made back-to-back AFC Championship visits less than five years ago?
Captain Hindsight Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Let's load up on players from a 6-10 team!! Get er done That defense wasnt the problem. I don't want a ton of those guys but a few pieces wouldnt be a bad thing
PromoTheRobot Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Let's load up on players from a 6-10 team!! Get er done Yeah but they are OTHER 6-10 team's players, so they MUST be better than what we have! PTR
Dean Cain Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Yeah but they are OTHER 6-10 team's players, so they MUST be better than what we have! PTR LOL...."Say....What about that Maybin guy?"
JPS Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I see a Bart Scott stint in Buffalo like an Isaiah Robertson stint in Buffalo. Now, maybe Cal Pace to set the edge. And Maybe Eric Smith for Safety depth. But none of these jamokes would be the cornerstone of a dominant defense.
