mead107 Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Should we make a play for him? http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/2964/wes-welker
BringBackFergy Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I don't think we have the cash to do it. Granted, he is a great possession receiver, but I doubt Marrone sees him as a necessity at this point. If anything we need a tallish, fast WR.
Doc Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 No surprise. As long as he leaves the AFC East, I'll be happy.
boyst Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I am thinking of places I would like to see him play. It'd be really nice on the SF squad for Kaep. NO could use a possession guy and Detroit would be amazing with him. Atlanta losing Gonzalez could be good. There aren't really any strong AFC teams that pass other then Denver. And I am not sure he would be good there.
Buftex Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I don't want ol' graham cracker knee... He may have graham cracker knees...but it hasn't really affected his production one iota.
HansLanda Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 He may have graham cracker knees...but it hasn't really affected his production one iota. I put 65% of his success on his QB.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I put 65% of his success on his QB. I'd say more like 43.9% He didn't score a lot of touchdowns, but he had a pretty good season in 2006 with Joey Harrington throwing him the ball. The guy can play.
jcbillsfan Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Seems like they want Stevie to play the slot. They need a big sob to go with tj speed and Stevie's elusiveness
BringBackFergy Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Seems like they want Stevie to play the slot. They need a big sob to go with tj speed and Stevie's elusiveness Nelson...or C. Patterson in draft?
papazoid Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 well.....if your sticking with Fitzpatrick.......then Welker is EXACTLY the kind of receiver you need.
swnybillsfan Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 no thanks. he's getting older, has been dropping quite a few balls in critical moments, his wife or girlfriend seems to have no brain-to-mouth filter. and if that's not enough for you, there's always that patriot taint that's on him like the stink of a dead fish in a hot trunk.
Dean Cain Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 If he'd be willing to sign a 3 contract with massive performance bonuses; like 100 plus catches, playoffs, why the hell not? First player in NFL history to post 5 100 reception seasons.
SKRAAPY Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 This thread just reminded me of this "Wes Welker Wore a Bills Shirt" http://larrybrownsports.com/football/wes-welker-wore-a-bills-shirt-and-threw-a-party-with-little-people-waiters-picture/97873
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I put 65% of his success on his QB. Don't think the stats bear this out. If I recall, welker had most all purpose yards in the league when he was in Miami. The guy is really solid. I would sign him.
dhg Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 As long as the price tag isn't too high, I say yes.
Hotpockets28 Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I rather sign danny amendola for more years and for less money....younger and faster...a upincoming welker clone
aristocrat Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 The panthers I think will make a big play for him. Could be huge for Newton bouncing back.
