I understand what you are saying about the physical demands of serving in the infantry, but my guess there is more to the job than just carrying others. Also don't other soldiers sometimes have shortcomings that might lead to a loss of life of a fellow soldier? Is that acceptable as long as it's a male soldier because males belong in battle?

 

I recall arguments against blacks, then gays, now women. Change is tough to deal with.
