ExiledInIllinois
Really? You don't say? Wow, what's new. Quick, move the manufacturing to China so we Americans don't see the mess!

"The fossil fuels used to transport that waste, experts say, is not typically considered in calculating solar's carbon footprint, giving scientists and consumers who use the measurement to gauge a product's impact on global warming the impression that solar is cleaner than it is." Just pointing out another liberal lie.

Just pointing out another liberal lie. What's the lie? It's still much cleaner than fossil fuels. Over a 20 year life cycle for a panel, it's not even close. And...it remains a developing technology. Solar/wind/tidal power are all in development and important technologies for the future.

Combined, the two collections of panels will save the city over $2,000 annually. That is an 80 year ROI on a 20 year life expectancy.

I don't know what the city pays for electricity but for the average joe in WNY 30,000KWHs is $6,000 3. High quality Solar Panels generally have a 20 year warranty but a life expectancy of 30-45 years 4. ROI - don't get too simplistic- solar power is every bit the hedge that gold is against inflation

You two don't get the point. Solar panels have nothing to do with the environment or saving money. It's all about giving their liberal base a boner. Dean Cain
The Germans have gotten way better ROI results in solar. It seems we have no idea that ROIs should be attainable faster than the span of a Homo sapiens lifetime!
