Anyone else like Cougar Town?

I found 30 rock highly overrated, the only thing ever funny on it was Tracy Morgan.

Arrested Development was good, it was originally on Fox before being canceled, and then years later relaunched on Netflix

Parks and Rec is another one that I think is even more highly overrated then 30 Rock, its just not funny

its not that its too trashy, or that most people here are elitists, its that the majority of the people here have a penis, and are over the age that if they wanted something to beat off to older woman, can easily obtain actual porn and no longer have to do it by watching tv shows and immagining or scrambled porn channels.

I think Parks and Rec and 30 Rock are both funny, but the disease of network sitcoms is how every episode gets tied off neatly with a bow. I like dismal comedy with sad endings. And Modern Family has the same problem. EVERY EPISODE ends with problem resolution and a life-affirming message. Schlock. Humorous schlock, but schlock nonetheless.

Gimme an episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia or Louie (go FX!) and I'm happy. Arrested Development was usually good for this too.

Well, Arrested Development almost always had continuing plot lines so the episodes wouldn't "end with a bow". But thats what Sitcoms are basically though, story lines that wrap up at the end of the 30 minutes. I would say that Always Sunny (one of my favorites) almost always wraps up with problem resolution at the end of each show . As for Louie, I watch it, but find that I don't think its all that funny usually. It just seems usually its too dark. The laughing you might do is usually an uncomfortable kind of laugh.

Entourage was the world's most egregious offender of silo'd plots, but they didn't even bother to "tie it up" --to the extent that I just stopped watching.

There were no less than two MAJOR, episode-spanning plot lines wherein episodes would end in cliffhangers, then be clumsily resolved during the following episode's breakfast scene. It's like they didn't even care, like they weren't even trying.

Wow, I lot I disagree on here. I think 30 Rock was one of the best tv shows EVER. Even the series finale was outstanding, which is so rare.

I also enjoy Cougar Town. Now, I was a big Scrubs fan, so these guys get a lot of leeway from me. But since about halfway through the first season , when the show really no longer fit the title and they started busting on themselves in the opening credits, I have enjoyed it...not loved it, but enjoyed it.

BTW, the Middle needs some love as well..like it better than Modern Family

Since we are giving out random opinions, I have probably seen about 10 episodes of "It's Always Sunny...." I don't think I laughed once....I hated it. "Louie" however is destination tv for me....it is one of the darkest, most depressing comedies ever...but I love it! Thumbs up on "Arrested Development" as well... but nothing (comedy wise) beats "Larry Sanders"!

I hate to use such a bad cliche, but I've never heard a halfway opinion on Always Sunny. Love it or hate it. People don't tend to be casual fans.

the opening title scene always has a message on the map of florida, but it goes by way to quickly to be able to read it.

You know how all Chuck Lorre (I think that's his name) productions have like a really long "essay" at the end? No one can possibly read that in the ~5 seconds it's posted. There is however this thing called pause or rewind on your DVR.

I agree w/ you though. I can't usually read'em either. Just doesn't bother me enough to bother to hit rewind.
