KD in CA Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 RIP Mayor Koch. How ya doin? You did pretty damn well. A self-described "liberal with sanity"; it's a shame we can't find many like him in either big party these days.
Nanker Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 A few years after he was mayor, I was cutting across a side street in midtown and looked over at the limo I cut in front of. There was Ed, smiling. I turned to my buddy and pointed to the car and said, something like, "Hey look - it's Ed Koch!" My friend pointed at him, we both waved, and Ed grinned broadly and waved back. You could tell he was really tickled to be recognized like that. Most modern politicians share that trait, but few others. He was a fine mayor of NYC.
