The above article mentions the possibility of Fitzpatrick, if released, playing for the Cardinals. As someone who has had moderate success (to be generous) in a spread offense, the writer asks the question: How would Fitzpatrick do in Bruce Arian's offense?

If Fitzpatrick is released this off-season, which at this stage seems to have 50/50 probability, it would be interesting to see how he plays on another team; Arizona, Jacksonville, and Minnesota are a few teams I can see picking him up. If he succeeds on Arizona with Fitzgerald, that may be an indictment of Nix's drafting and the overall offensive talent. Mel Kiper recently called Cordy Glenn a bottom-7 LT in the league, which is harsh, but he had quite an up-and-down season. If we release Fitzpatrick and decide that a drafted QB is a worthwhile prospect, I'm very interested to see where his career goes.

he doesnt really make bad decisions, and has tremendous confidence in his wide recievers. his ability to read defenses and make calls at the line is good. he just doesnt have the physical tools to get the ball where he wants it to go. fitz to fitz may work. he seems to get respect from a lot of coaches and defenses around the league.

i dont think we give him enough credit for how bad our wr's and ol are. i think fitz hides some holes in this team...then screws it all up. we need a replacement for him for sure, but next year could be rocky offensively

If this is indeed true, then I won't listen to another evaluation courtesy of Mel Kiper. Cordy Glenn was credited with no sacks and one QB hurry prior to his injury. ONE! As the year wore on, he did take a step back, but he played admirably for a rookie. In no way, shape, or form a bottom 7 LT in the league.

I'm not sure what the heck you are saying.

I'd imagine much like he has in buffalo, cincy, and St. Louis - consistently inconsistent having to make throws that aren't good odds with his arm.

Can't think of a single reason for Fitz to ever suit up for the Bills again.

I hope he's gone soon. It would seem the new HC would have his own plans, and Russ needs to sell some inventory too.

Keeping Fitz around won't move anything forward.

I could see Fitz going to the following teams as a starter. Cardinals,Jets,Jaguars. I could see these teams bringing him in as a guy who could push their starter Browns,Cowboys,Eagles, maybe, just possibly, the titans. And I could see everyone else be interested in him as a quality backup. Basically don't be suprised at the amount of interest he garners if/when,he's released.

I agree he'll get some interest but not near as much as you believe. I can't agree with the Cowboys, he isn't in the same hemisphere as Romo.

I agree, but fans in big D are simmering over the whole Romo not taking the Cowboys anywhere. And fitz is a typical Jerruh move, look I brought in a guy who threw for 14000 yards and almost a 100 TD's,to push Romo. Kind of an expensive P.R. stunt

I'd feel sorry for Larry Fitzgerald. What a wasted career.

Fitz to Fitz would be better than lindley, Skelton, and kolb have been though.

Fitz would sneak in a few yards for him.....I am all for this possible development. It would fun to root for fitz as a cardinal I think.

+1. The biggest flaw in Fitz game is that he is wildly inconsistent. I think he can make the down the line throws if he wants to, but just is not accurate enough. His strength is his pocket presence and quick release.

Since I lack insider access, could you summarize? How does the writer answer the question "how would Fitz do in Arian's offense?"

What is Arizona's run game like?

It aint a question of what offense you put Fitz in. It comes down to two things... supporting cast and a defense. The Bills defense continually and repeatedly put the offense in huge holes, which took the offense out of their game plan and allowed defenses to pin there ears back. Clearly the Bills had only one receiver, a TE that has no ability to stretch the defense, problems at both tackles all season, little depth at the skill positions, and a coach, for whatever reason, that underutilized his most potent offensive weapon (CJ).

PS... The Bills are not going to release Fitz. There is no cap advantage and there is no FA out there that is a significant upgrade over Fitz. Not only that, if they got one, they'd have to overpay him. That's throwing away good money after bad money. Media and bloggers that suggest Fitz is getting cut are only looking at it purely from a $$$ perspective and nothing else... least of which is that if they cut Fitz, they have no QBs on their roster. That's unprecedented. No team has ever entered the offseason with no QBs on their roster. That alone is a clear signal that media and bloggers have their heads up their asses when it comes to Fitz and the Bills.

Thanks for telling us what the Bills are going to do. Your knowledge is superior to that of nix/Whaley and Marrone...who at this point, likely aren't sure what they're going to do. It comes down to one thing. He sucks. He should be cut, cap help or not. Paying a guy 10Mill plus to be the backup of start and suck is ludicrous. Save Ralph 10 mill and put that money into a guaranteed contract in the future. He's a bum. If Marrone doesn't want him on the team, my guess is he's cut or restructured.

To answer the question in the OP.....he would likely suck.

Fitz is going to push romo? Lol. Kyle Orton was signed to a 3 year 10 million dollar deal. They have no need for a lesser QB.

It was non existent. Maybe the worst OL in football. Always broken RBs. I'd love to see him go there. I'd win lots of money betting against them every week.

Nice to see someone with logical thinking.
