Keukasmallies Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 And then there are the Patriots who backed out of the Pro Bowl.... Wonder if they'd back out if they had beaten the Ravens? http://bostonherald.com/sports/patriots_nfl/blitz/2013/01/welker_wilfork_mankins_back_out_pro_bowl
Concrete Buffalo Feet Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 McKelvin should have got to replace Jacoby Jones instead of Cribbs...
26CornerBlitz Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 McKelvin should have got to replace Jacoby Jones instead of Cribbs... Any player on IR is not eligible for the Pro Bowl. Would have made it if he wasn't, possibly over Jones.
Thirty Year Fan Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Whats the pro bowl? Flag football game or something? you got it the game is a total joke will not watch!
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Well Byrd has now been officially invited. The man was due.

Doc Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 @buffalobills #Bills S @jairusbyrd has been added to the 2013 AFC Pro Bowl roster, replacing @Ravens S Ed Reed. Crap. Oh well, franchise him.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 dang I was having moment...lol Sorry to mess it up for you.
Nitro Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 The pro bowl is a bore to the fans but to the guys named it is a badge of honor. Congrats to Spiller, Byrd and WIlliams. Enjoy the experience because you deserve it. Next year aim for the Super Bowl.

Wonder if they'd back out if they had beaten the Ravens? http://bostonherald.com/sports/patriots_nfl/blitz/2013/01/welker_wilfork_mankins_back_out_pro_bowl Umm yea I assume they wouldn't be playing if they were in the superbowl instead
The Helmet of Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 How important is the Pro Bowl to fans on this board? Do any here really get satisfaction by having Spiller play in this game. It means nothing to me, but if someone could explain why it is important to them as a fan of the Bills, I'm all ears. good question. i haven't watched a bowl ever -- maybe once i watched a replay. i don't care to see the game. but it's the prestige that it adds to player that makes fans care. if you own a spiller jersey and he goes to the probowl, then it adds to your fandom in some weird way. fans have always been bigger fans of all-stars. i must admit, i like having probowl players on the team even if i don't watch the game.

Players making the Pro Bowl shows the team is making progress and lesser of a laughing stock.

Having All-Pros means progress; the Pro Bowl is laughable.
Prickly Pete Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 As a fan of the Bills for five years now,it's important to me. Players making the Pro Bowl shows the team is making progress and lesser of a laughing stock. meh. As a fan for 35 years now, it's come to mean nothing. All I care about is the TEAM accomplishments. After such terrible seasons, these kinds of accolades almost feel like the trophy they give to EVERY little leaguer for participating. "Now we have a few awards for some of the other teams in the league. Here you go guys. Thanks for playing in our league".
Toledo Bill Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I am sorry if I have missed an update on this but the last I read Williams was going to possibly have surgery on his other foot. Now I see he is going to The Pro Bowl to play. If his foot was so bad I am surprised he would go play. If anyone has any kind of update I would appreciate it.
qblax16 Posted January 22, 2013 Author Posted January 22, 2013 Ravens G Marshal Yanda was replaced by Richie Incognito, a former Bill. I'm suprised this dirt bag made it over Levitre... Also, Leodis should have been the kick returns specialist.
mrags Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 He's a big dumb farm boy. Of course he wants to go to Hawaii.
Canadian Bills Fan Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Well Byrd has now been officially invited. The man was due. Think this will drive up his price for us to re sign him? CBF
Kelly the Dog Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 The Chiefs had five Pro Bowlers this year. Jeff Saturday, who was benched, made the Pro Bowl. Having All-Pros means progress; the Pro Bowl is laughable. I always find the pro bowl is laughable argument to be much more laughable. The Pro Bowl has, what, 80 players in it? Each year, IMO, 70 of the 80 definitely deserve to go, there are 5 that are very arguable (because equal players may have deserved to go, but if they were flopped it may have been just as unfair to the first guy) and about 5 players are "laughable." Every year, especially the starters, about are 90% deserving (unless you want to nitpick an argument over whether Peyton Manning should start over Tom Brady or vice versa where there is no definitive answer whatsoever).
