26CornerBlitz Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Gore scores and does the fake out dirty bird dance. LOL
truth on hold Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 His hand was under the ball the whole time. I'd stay with call on field. But wouldn't be surprised if wussy refs reverse it.
jaybee Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Incomplete!!! Definitely blew that call. Routin fer the birds but......that was clearly incomplete.
Chris in Syracuse Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I see a TD and a SF field goal and OT.
Simon Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 and a SF field goal and OT. Yeah, but who's going to kick it?
truth on hold Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Shocked ATL didn't call a timeout on 3rd or 4th down to settle things down and get a play in. I would have called it on 3rd because of how shaken up Ryan looked.
jaybee Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 OMG. Atlanta got jobbed on that 4th down. Receiver got mugged......and they didnt call it. Its a damn shame either team has to lose a game like this. One of the best games I've seen in quite a while.

mannc Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 @nfl Wow. RT @Gil_Brandt: Julio Jones is best WR in @nfl. Better than Megatron. Better hands, stronger, same speed. #SFvsATL Pretty Bold statement I'd say. Another player the Bills could have drafted instead of an underperforming defensive tackle.
jaybee Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Within the five yard area it's not a penalty. True...you can make contact within 5 yards, but you cant (practically) tackle an intended receiver while the ball is en route. S'all good bro. Don't like the outcome, but by golly that was one helluva football game right there. jb
Dragonborn10 Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Great game.... I think Ryan had Gonzalez in the end zone on that last play. There is a shot of Gonzalez on the sideline saying he was wide open. HOw about them announcers missing the Ryan shoulder injury. The cameras and replay guys only showed him holding his left shoulder four times. Joe Buck is awful. Can't stand Jim Harbaugh but what a gutsy call to switch QB's. Wonder if he woudl have done it had Smith not gotten hurt. Mega balls.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I like the Niners' style of play, including CK. But I hate Harbaugh, and it will drive me a crazy if there is a Harbaugh-fest for the Super Bowl. Oh, well.

Plus, you can't make that call at that point in the game. If it were the Bills, yeah, it would have been a PI call and a prompt loss to follow. But, otherwise, I am glad the refs didn't bail the Falcons out.
Fan in Chicago Posted January 20, 2013 Author Posted January 20, 2013 Congrats to the 49ers. Very well played game. If the Pats* are to reqch the Superbowl, at least we will be assured of a good team against them. The Falcons, for all their record, just didnt inspire confidence.
jaybee Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Atlanta receivers are the last to ever get to complain about that. They mug everyone. Haven't watched enough of Atlanta football so I can't comment on that.. I'll take your word for it though. Thanks. jb
bills44 Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Nice to see the 49ers overcome a brutal call on the Douglas "catch" on the Falcons 2nd-to-last drive.
