dayman Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Bigger fraud: Teos GF, or Notre Dames season? ND season easily
stevestojan Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Bigger fraud: Teos GF, or Notre Dames season? I went to the ND Wake game so I'm 99% sure the season existed.
bbb Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I went to the ND Wake game so I'm 99% sure the season existed. I went to the Alabama game, so I'm pretty sure it didn't.
boyst Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I went to the ND Wake game so I'm 99% sure the season existed. In Winston or @ ND?
bbb Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 He claims to have known since December and that he brought this to the attention of notre dame a month ago. Not having a statement in his pocket would be weird. Odds are deadspin also contacted him along the way (which if he was in on it might be why he contacted notre dame). Regardless, you need to critically think more if you think that he first found out reading the story with us. I am actually hoping this explains his horrible showing last Monday.
sodbuster Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I went to the Alabama game, so I'm pretty sure it didn't. Bazinga.
The Poojer Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 ...you owe me a beer and a new computer screen.... Bazinga.
Nitro Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 ND beat 4 top 20 teams. That is not a fraud or a hoax. They played badly against a very good Alabama team.
atlbillsfan1975 Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 hes not even 22 yet. he was exactly one day old when Bills played in their 1st super bowl. hes a kid. Really? 22 is a 'kid'. This is whats wrong with our country today! I should expect someone with a picture of him to stand up for the 'kid'. Face it, if he did not go to Notre Dame, and the death of his grand mother had not happened and what we thought was the death of his gf, no one would talk about him. Sorry man the 'kid' is just not that good of a football player. He is ok. But he is not great. He has a lot of people hoping he pans out. But once he gets to the NFL he will get exposed just like in the Bama game!
TallskiWallski83 Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 If true (how could it not be?!) this man is a sick twisted F to tha U to tha C to tha K and should be crossed off of all NFL draft boards.
Corp000085 Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I just sent that link to my wife to decipher. It's WAAAAY too soap opera for me to even begin to understand. I do like the angles that could happen in the near future. A) This has already been initiated... The damage control angle, where Te'o gets ND to back him and they both claim hoax. This is a great angle, because if he is lying, then he also drags ND down with him. B) Te'o is gay and this is all a big cover to hide his true lover. The Catholic university as well as his own and family's Mormon faith play a large role too, especially since his father is now either in on the coverup or is being used by his son unknowingly. C) Te'o and his co conspirators made up the whole thing to enhance his position. D) Te'o was hoaxed, he found out, and was blackmailed. this could tie into the gay angle. I don't watch too much in the way of soap operas, but this is like a February Sweeps storyline here.
NoSaint Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Really? 22 is a 'kid'. This is whats wrong with our country today! I should expect someone with a picture of him to stand up for the 'kid'. But once he gets to the NFL he will get exposed just like in the Bama game! It'd be 19 that he "met her" and did he really keep it going three years and kill her the same week his grandma died to make it a super awesome story? Weird either way, that's for sure.
The Poojer Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 in the grand scheme of things no...but i think we are all guilty of calling them kids until they get out of college, assuming they go the 'normal' route High School -> College.... Really? 22 is a 'kid'.
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 This...this is too f*cking bizarre for me to handle. I have to wait for the whole story to come out. SI did a piece on this thing after all, so if it is indeed a hoax it was a pretty well crafted one. So yeah...maybe he'll fall to the third round now?
Maury Ballstein Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) Te'o's full statement on the situation, according to CBSSports.com: "This is incredibly embarrassing to talk about, but over an extended period of time, I developed an emotional relationship with a woman I met online. We maintained what I thought to be an authentic relationship by communicating frequently online and on the phone, and I grew to care deeply about her. "To realize that I was the victim of what was apparently someone's sick joke and constant lies was, and is, painful and humiliating. "It further pains me that the grief I felt and the sympathies expressed to me at the time of my grandmother's death in September were in any way deepened by what I believed to be another significant loss in my life. "I am enormously grateful for the support of my family, friends and Notre Dame fans throughout this year. To think that I shared with them my happiness about my relationship and details that I thought to be true about her just makes me sick. I hope that people can understand how trying and confusing this whole experience has been. "In retrospect, I obviously should have been much more cautious. If anything good comes of this, I hope it is that others will be far more guarded when they engage with people online than I was. "Fortunately, I have many wonderful things in my life, and I'm looking forward to putting this painful experience behind me as I focus on preparing for the NFL Draft." the Teo's side or spin? SI did a piece on this thing after all, so if it is indeed a hoax it was a pretty well crafted one. So yeah...maybe he'll fall to the third round now? Well it's certainly a hoax. That much we do know. Just not who is at the center of it. Either way it was incredibly elaborate and had no real end game at its start though.... Crazy. i'd buy that if there weren't pictures of him and the love of his life Are there pics together? Who is the girl in those? Edited January 17, 2013 by NoSaint
4merper4mer Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Here is what bugs me a little about this.... The press will seemingly report anything they are told and keep telling it over and over. They want a story and don't need to check anything. The girlfriend story, even the dead one isn't really a huge deal. It is sick but that's all. It's not like that guy that got arrested for bombing the Olympics in Salt Lake because a bunch of people were speculating. There have been other bad stories too like Lance Armstrong being a great hero. That crap went on for years. You don't even need to research that issue; you can tell he is a liar just by looking at him. With Te'o though, the press really doesn't have much to lose.. It will blow over for them because they all cover for each other. Here is what bugs me MOST about this..... Almost every mock draft you see has the Bills taking Te'o at #8. The Bills DO have something to lose. A lot of $$$$$$ and another wasted pick. I wanted to believe this new regime was better than the old one but I guess not. They should have investigated this before deciding on Te'o. I suspect they will shy away from him now which only means they got lucky but why they had him pegged in the first place without discovering this major character flaw is amazing to me. Do you think Bellichick would have ever picked a guy like this?
Maury Ballstein Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 this guy sucks............more johnny manziel news...less manti teo news please.
