bills1960 Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 As long as neither our first or second round pick would be involved. I wouldnt expect them to be but just don't want them to even consider that.
Kelly the Dog Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I might consider a 4th or 5th this year. Let him play. If he fails, we are ready to draft next year, and Flynn can remain as a backup. This allows us to use the first 3-4 rounds on other areas this year. Agreed. Flynn has a chance to be good. And if he's not, a solid back-up. I would be happy to go into the season with Flynn and a rookie at this point.
Kelly the Dog Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 (edited) The geniuses who knew Russell Wilson was going to be great at QB and have assembled maybe the most talented team in the league right now thought enough of him to sign him and give him $26 mil for three years, he must be great, right? BRAWNDO Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 The geniuses who knew Russell Wilson was going to be great at QB and have assembled maybe the most talented team in the league right now thought enough of him to sign him and give him $26 mil for three years, he must be great, right? Â Well if we keep trading for Seattle QBs eventually we should get Russell Wilson right?
bills1960 Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Why not? We're almost all in agreement that there's no QBs worth our time this year. Give up a few mid round picks for him, draft a Nassib like guy if you want for competition, and if you get nothing out of that then hope that we have a pickings next year.
Kelly the Dog Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Well if we keep trading for Seattle QBs eventually we should get Russell Wilson right? No, but we could probably get Jim Zorn.
BRAWNDO Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 (edited) No, but we could probably get Jim Zorn. Â Still better then what is on the roster now Edited March 27, 2013 by BRAWNDO
DDD Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 (edited) No, but we could probably get Jim Zorn. Â Too late, we already traded for T. Jackson. Edited March 27, 2013 by Mr. Wonderful
Dr. Trooth Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/jason-la-canfora/21953816/jaguars-bills-raiders-in-mix-for-seahawks-backup-qb-matt-flynn  The ghost of fitz lives on. Honestly, I cannot fathom why the Bills would even consider this after the failures of Johnson and Bledsoe.  Anyway...Read this. Toward the end. Flynn compares to fitz.  http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles?id=367
Dean Cain Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 WTF! Fitzmagic all over again. No more retreads!
actionjackson1231 Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 NO NO NO, jesus, what are we gonna have 2 ex seahawks qb's. Retarded, better off just starting anew with a rookie. What do we have to lose? We can't get WORSE LOL!
Aus Bills Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Flynn gives me more hope than the other QB that was/still is on FA list. The guy has been behind Rodgers and Wilson. Still I'd much prefer Barkley or Smith.
Kirby Jackson Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I am cool with Flynn for a 4th or 5th. This would be consolation for the people that want to draft two guys. Take a Qb in the 2nd and the trade for Flynn and you have a fighting chance. If it doesnt work out you have not invested too much. i would prefer Flynn to Landry Jones or whoever could be your 2nd QB pick in the 4th round. I am not dying for this move but certainly would not hate it. He has a kind of Matt Schaub feel to me when he was with Atlanta (not that that is great). Could do worse...
Smiley Dear Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Why trade for Flynn when you can sign Kolb to a much more reasonable contract without giving up a draft pick. Neither is the answer but if they want a veteran back up on the roster to compete and groom the rookie, Kolb makes more sense. No?
Tim Anderson's Lunch Pail Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 The reason Flynn is a better option than Kolb is the unknown. Kolb had his shot, couldn't get it done. Yes, Flynn was beat out by Wilson, but Wilson was incredible. And yes, Rob Johnson exhibited the unknown, but until we find the guy, we need to keep looking under every rock.
kickedface Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 a late pick for him would be fine. he is worth considering. though this might be one of those rumors teams make up to generate some interest
