26CornerBlitz Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 (edited) http://espn.go.com/n...s-radar-sources In the 6-foot-5, 300-pound, Armstead an NFL team twill be getting the equivalent of a high draft pick months before the April draft. The 22-year-old former USC standout went to Canada to prove he was healthy enough to play football again after suffering a heart attack, the subject of a lawsuit against the school in which Armstead alleges the attack was brought on by painkillers. Armstead played three seasons for USC (2008-10), starting 17 games and recording 59 tackles. He did not suit up for the Trojans in 2011 because he was not medically cleared for competition and then went undrafted in the 2012 NFL draft. Playing for Toronto this season, Armstead had six sacks and helped the Argonauts win the Grey Cup. Toronto released him earlier this month, reportedly so he could pursue a spot in the NFL. Wake has 43 sacks since signing with Miami before the 2009 season, including 15 this season. Freeman had 145 tackles, 2 sacks and an interception in his rookie season with the Colts in 2012. The Bills should pursue this guy to add to the D-line rotation. Edited January 30, 2013 by 26CornerBlitz
peterpan Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Who is Freeman? But yea sure, sign him and give him a shot. We suck, so he has to have a good shot at making the team.
Matteboots Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 No thanks. With pettines defense, we need more lbs and cbs. Dline is the last thing we need.
Mr. WEO Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Dude already has had a heart attack and is embroiled in a bogus lawsuit? Let's sign him now--he can go right to IR!
26CornerBlitz Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 The Patriots signed this kid: Sources: Pats sign Armond Armstead
Doc Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Toradol (ketorolac) gave him a heart attack? Yeah, okay. Good luck with the short playing career.

Saint Doug Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 (edited) Toradol (ketorolac) gave him a heart attack? Yeah, okay. Good luck with the short playing career. If anything, due to its anti-platelet effects, I could see ketorolac as protective. More like the coke he was snorting. Playing for Toronto this season, Armstead had six sacks and helped the Argonauts win the Grey Cup. Just as a comparison, wake had 16 sacks in 2007 and 23 sacks in 2008 while playing in the CFL. He was a man among boys. This kid had 6? Edited January 29, 2013 by kas23

There's also that wake is a rush end/backer and 2 inches shorter and 40lbs lighter. Armstead is a defensive tackle. Of course he's not gonna match wakes sack total in the CFL or the NFL or anywhere. They're different players at different positions Edited January 29, 2013 by Stealth

Actually there is an association with antiinflammatory stuff like ketorolac with heart problems, think Viox that has anti-Cox2 inhibition effects.

San Jose Bills Fan Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Actually there is an association with antiinflammatory stuff like ketorolac with heart problems, think Viox that has anti-Cox2 inhibition effects. The Bills had that too until he retired. Never liked that guy.
buffaloboyinATL Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Patriots from the CFL Argos signed him? Were they American Patriots or Canadien Patriots?
26CornerBlitz Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 Patriots from the CFL Argos signed him? Were they American Patriots or Canadien Patriots? Fixed that for you.
buffaloboyinATL Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Fixed that for you. Thanks, now I get it. Damn that Bill Belicheck!
BobbyC81 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 So, he'll turn into a good player for the Pats and we can again second guess the Bills' FO which is located closest to Toronto.
Saint Doug Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Actually there is an association with antiinflammatory stuff like ketorolac with heart problems, think Viox that has anti-Cox2 inhibition effects. That association is only for selective Cox-2 inhibitors used for greater than 5 months. Ketorolac is not a selective Cox-2 inhibitor, nor is it used for greater than 5 months. It is an acute analgesic usually only used for 3 days at most.
Doc Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 So, he'll turn into a good player for the Pats and we can again second guess the Bills' FO which is located closest to Toronto. You can't force a player to sign with you. IIRC, the Bills offered Wake more money. As for Armsteaf, the odds of him being a good player are against him. But it was a low risk move for the Pats. Hopefully he doesn't have another coronary event.
