Doc Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000125147/article/allpro-team-headlined-by-adrian-peterson-jj-watt Yes, the Bills to re-sign him, or at least franchise him.
dhg Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Bills need to resign him. His price may have just gone up though.
Stealth Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Byrd is gonna get paid regardless. Hopefully the Bills are the ones who pay him
3rdand12 Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 (edited) glad he got the recognition thanks for the post Doc Edited January 12, 2013 by 3rdand12
Big C Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Byrd made PFF's All-Pro first team too. Glad he's getting some recognition!
ny33 Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 More interesting than the team itself is who received votes. Wood had a vote. McKelvin had a few at KR. Levitre and Spiller didn't get anything.
NoSaint Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 More interesting than the team itself is who received votes. Wood had a vote. McKelvin had a few at KR. Levitre and Spiller didn't get anything. A lot of established backs with far more touches. Guards are a position thats getting a bit hot with talent too. Center is a total void, and KR is one that cycles quickly so a single good season is more likely to be noted.
pimp 2 Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 (edited) Congrats to J. Byrd for getting the recognition while playing in such a crappy defensive scheme this year. Hopefully Pettine has plans to highlight his strengths next year...I can see him using his instincts & intelligence to become an even more dominate player. Also congrats to M. Lynch (wished he were still here) for turning his career around and making the 1st team, BEAST-MODE !!! Edited January 12, 2013 by pimp 2
Big Turk Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 On a side note, according to PFF, Levitre is Bills best pass blocker by a mile and its not even close for 2nd
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Just sign Levitre and Byrd Yeah, really. It's beyond me how they would let these guys test free agency. Sign one and franchise the other if necessary.
KD in CA Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Byrd has to be the #1 off season priority. Teams with impact players win in this league and he is the Bills #1 impact player on defense.
Helpmenow Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 May not want to stick around. Looking at a chance making the playoffs not with the bills
Doc Posted January 12, 2013 Author Posted January 12, 2013 May not want to stick around. Looking at a chance making the playoffs not with the bills If they tag him, he's got no choice.
BillsVet Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 More interesting than the team itself is who received votes. Wood had a vote. McKelvin had a few at KR. Levitre and Spiller didn't get anything. It's interesting that no draft pick or free agent signing of Buddy Nix received any votes either. Building a team isn't about having Pro Bowlers or All-Pros (ask the Chiefs) but there remains a distinct lack of talent on this team.
White Linen Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 This is going to be a difficult situation for the Bills FO. I think the only way we keep Levitre is to tag him for one more season. He mentioned he wasn't offered a contract, which can sound like the Bills haven't done anything, but could it be his agent didn't ask for one? I think it's going to be a long negotiation with Byrd, which may force a tag to be necessary to continue to work on it next year, which could cause Levitre to walk.
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 On a sidenote, who else remembers everybody tearing their hair out when Byrd was drafted? Presumably because he was a DB.
CardinalScotts Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 On a side note, according to PFF, Levitre is Bills best pass blocker by a mile and its not even close for 2nd we need to stop going to this site, its like the podcast of scouts inc on espn - say what ever no one respect it anyway
ganesh Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 A lot of established backs with far more touches. Guards are a position thats getting a bit hot with talent too. Center is a total void, and KR is one that cycles quickly so a single good season is more likely to be noted. That is very surprising. The Pouncey brothers have been really good.
