buffalo1983 Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 @mortreport: Panthers OC Rob Chudzinski will be the next head coach of the Cleveland Browns, per league source. Browns have not confirmed yet.
BRAWNDO Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 (edited) Is this Plan D, E, or F? Just kidding, I hope he is successful there and the Bills and Browns are playing for the AFC Championship in two years. Edited January 11, 2013 by BRAWNDO
buffalo1983 Posted January 11, 2013 Author Posted January 11, 2013 Damn.. It just seems like a pretty bad hiring. But oh well.
NoSaint Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 (edited) Interesting one - Cleveland fans will be familiar as he was their OC a few years ago, and a few years before a position coach. 3rd time in less than 10 years he's joined the staff there. Wouldn't be my choice here but I'd be curious to see browns fans reaction. I imagine frustrated but maybe not? Edited January 11, 2013 by NoSaint
BRAWNDO Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Pro Football Weekly @ProFootballWkly RT @KeithBritton86: Source says Chudzinski will likely bring Norv Turner as part of #Browns coaching staff This should keep Norv away from the Jets
boyst Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I feel bad for saying this about a guy I know so little about but poor Cleveland fans. Major let down I am sure...but they are used to it, they do live in Cleveland.
NoSaint Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Alternated between the chargers and browns repeatedly before joining former sd coach Ron Rivera in Carolina. Apparently those two staffs like fighting over him, which is a good sign.... Maybe.

Major let down I am sure...but they are used to it, they do live in Cleveland. Those were my thoughts exactly. What if we had hired that guy? You would type in the website and all you would see is flames on your screen.

Shouldnt Norv be the HC?

H2o Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Bringing back a former coordinator? People wanted fewell back. Semi comparable? I didn't. Why bring back someone from a time when your team still wasn't really any good?

Not sure how this guys going to be all that different than a pat shurmer
boyst Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Why would you feel sorry for Cleveland when you don't know anything about their new coach? I am probably like most Browns fans. Look how many people around here are upset we got Marrone? The Browns were in the running to get Reid, Chip Kelly, they had Holmgren in the FO, they had Belichek... if ever a team was similar to the Bills, it'd be the Browns. Also, I have seen the Panthers offense, it's up and down. I do not know how much was actually him, though.
Max997 Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Is he really any different then the coach they just fired?
JPPT1974 Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Well hopefully we will give the man a chance. Let's just see what kind of work he does!
San Jose Bills Fan Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 This seems a little backwards. Shouldnt Norv be the HC? I think Norv has proven that he's an average head coach but an above average offensive coordinator. This is the right position for Norv and probably makes it easier for the Browns to sell Chudzinski to their fanbase. Many people on this board were good with the Bills hiring Lovie Smith as HC as long as he brought Norv Turner (or to a lesser degree Pat Shurmur) with him. This would be a similar package deal.
NoSaint Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 (edited) Is he really any different then the coach they just fired? He's not 9-23 as their HC... Yet. Edited January 11, 2013 by NoSaint
San Jose Bills Fan Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 BTW, Chud worked under Norville in San Diego.
