San Jose Bills Fan Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I don't think very many are accepting. Stunned, maybe. He's younger than I am, by 8 months. That shocks me. I can top that. Imagine my shock when reading that Daniel Snyder had bought the Washington Redskins at the age of 34. At the time I was 38.
Chilly Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Kinda shocked. Will be interesting to hear him defend the hire.
NoSaint Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 (edited) Syracuse News at 6 pm said Schafer is Cuse new HC and that Hackett was staying on as OC.... the sports dude even said that the newly recruited QB Zach ??? from Texas had calls form K State and another school after Marrone bolted to the Bills and declined because Hackett called him said he was staying on with the Cuse. I really suspect this was not plan a More than a couple red flags Edited January 9, 2013 by NoSaint
Simon Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Nathaniel Hacket kept firing at the Red Coats 'til his musket finally jammed. He thereupon made a final charge with 'is bayonet and slashed four score of 'em until he was blasted by a cannon. He bled out on the side o' the hill that they thereupon named for him. It's a good start, but it needs to be in an Olde English verse and have a better ending.
buffalo1983 Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Brent Axe @BrentAxeMedia Hackett's offense set all kinds of records at Syracuse this season. One of the most prolific in the history of SU. And it was fun to watch.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Marrone is a bald faced liar. Thorough NFL experience.... so it begins... You might want to re-read the quote.
buffalo1983 Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Ian Rapoport @RapSheet Think #Billsmafia may like Nathaniel Hackett: Jim Kelly gave him the 90s playbook when Hackett was an assistant with Bills in 08 #KGun
stevestojan Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Had to google him as I never heard of him before. That's likely a very good thing.
Punch Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Ian Rapoport @RapSheet Think #Billsmafia may like Nathaniel Hackett: Jim Kelly gave him the 90s playbook when Hackett was an assistant with Bills in 08 #KGun All 9 plays??
NoSaint Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Ian Rapoport @RapSheet Think #Billsmafia may like Nathaniel Hackett: Jim Kelly gave him the 90s playbook when Hackett was an assistant with Bills in 08 #KGun The legendary Turk schoenert year, before our high octane no huddle Alex van pelt k gun, correct?
Mike in Syracuse Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Brian Ayrault @BrianAyrault Bills fans should be excited about Doug Marrone. Great leader! Cuse ran the 90's Bills K-Gun no huddle under OC Nathaniel Hackett this year. Expand
Max Fischer Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I am shocked people are so accepting of this hire. A 33 year old kid with a few years as a low level assistant in the NFL and TWO years in college is going to go up against a Bill Belichick and Rex Ryan defenses with either Fitz or a project rookie QB and succeed? ON WHAT !@#$ING PLANET??!!!!??? I'm not shocked that people freak out. For all we know this guy is a friggin genius.
K D Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 This just in...the Bills are joining the ACC and playing their home games at the Carrier Dome. The bad news is we open the season as underdogs vs Duke
RyanC883 Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 That would be shocking....and prolly not very popular. Marrone does not care about being popular. He cares about winning. If Hackett is hired, it's because Marrone thinks he can win with him.
NoSaint Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Marrone does not care about being popular. He cares about winning. If Hackett is hired, it's because Marrone thinks he can win with him. Obviously. The question is can he?
Dr. Trooth Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 How old was Chuckie when he became an OC? Also.... Hackett worke with the Bills when Pill was OC the season Schonert got canned at the beginning and later on Jauron got the axe too. Hackett was in theupstairs in the booth calling plays down to the Pill. I remember a few games on TV when during they broadcast they cut to the booth a couple of times and showed him and mentioned he was Paul Hackett's Dad. Dudes.. he's done this before, now he's got his license.

They also used the RB's in a great manner.
BRAWNDO Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Brian Ayrault @BrianAyrault Hackett ran the K-Gun offense at Syracuse this year. Hackett picked up the offense from Jim Kelly and AVP when he was the QCC in BUF
