bobobonators Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 The New York Post's Brian Costello "hears" that the Cowboys have fired DC Rob Ryan. Costello is a Jets beat writer. Perhaps he got the surprising scoop from someone close to Ryan's twin brother, though we wouldn't take it as gospel truth until the report is confirmed. Costello had reported earlier in the day that Jets secondary coach Dennis Thurman would be elevated to defensive coordinator. It will be interesting to see if that indeed happens now that the Ryan Brothers have a chance to reunite in New York. Ryan's Dallas defense was among the league's stingiest early in the season before losing several key players to injuries. Related: Jets

It later leaked out that it was Thurman although it hasn't been officially announced by the JEST.
