Dr Andrews/Mike Shanahan at odds over RGIII injury

Ugh that's unfortunate. People will blame shannie because he is to blame. But as some of us talked about before there was an air of inevitably given his history , play style and not being a big guy.

Fixed.

Cousins looks like a capable starter too, at least give shannie credit for that. Quite a testament to the value of BPA

Yes, Shanahan is so confident in Cousins he felt an RGIII with a torn knee was more valuable last Sunday.

The ironic thing here is that almost all of the former NFL players turned analysts thought that RGIII staying in the game (because he wanted to) was the right thing. Yet there currently is this massive lawsuit against the NFL being brought by former players who feel the league did not protect them enough. You can't have it both ways.

The decisions made after that Ngata hit should make for one heck of a 30 for 30 documentary on what happened to one of the most promising and anticipated NFL careers in the history of the league. I was shaking my head watching him limp around. I was surprised he wasn't sent back to the locker room and put in street clothes after that second TD.

People will blame shannie because as an ass he's an easy target. But as some of us talked about before there was an air of inevitably given his history , play style and not being a big guy.

You've completely missed the point.

The issue isn't the inevitability of RGIII getting injured.

The issue is that he was sent out to play by Shanny when he was hurting the team and exposing himself to greater injury.

Everyone and their dead aunt could see that RGIII was hurting himself and hurting the team.

Except the guy who's being paid $7 million a year to see it.

That's why Shanahan is under fire. Because it's one of the most obvious judgement errors by an NFL head coach in recent history.

Perhaps you haven't followed the story. RGIII was originally injured against the Ravens in week 14.

Mixed reports on length of Griffin’s rehab...

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, who expanded the torn-ligament alphabet by adding ACL to the prior report of a torn LCL, says that Griffin will need six-to-eight months to recover. The Washington Post, citing a doctor who hasn’t treated or evaluated Griffin, says that the rehab time on an LCL tear can cover eight to 12 months.

Dr. Andrews hopes and believes RG3 will be ready for season

“Robert Griffin III had successful knee surgery early this morning. He had a direct repair of his LCL and a re-do of his previous ACL reconstruction. We expect a full recovery and it is everybody’s hope and belief that due to Robert’s high motivation, he will be ready for the 2013 season. The goal of his treatment is to give him the best opportunity for a long professional career.”
