Do you think maybe hes communicating something with blinks? Perhaps this is some sort of hostage situation or something where hes trying to get the message out in morse code without tipping off his captors?

Involuntary eye-blinking/twitching can be caused by stress or exhaustion and excessive caffeine and/or alcohol consumption. Dude could just be exhausted and it's manifesting itself in the blinking. I know because I've had this crazy eyelid twitch thing going on for about two weeks now!
