Outside of Lovie, all the HC candidates had ?'s enough that it'll be a wait and see situation.

One thing is known ...... this aint the first time posters in here thought the right guy was hired only to realize later on that he wasn't.

Give it up dude. It's a fact. Every major sports site is reporting that Marrone is our coach.

I'm not trying to start anything. I just want a link to read about it. Unfortunately ever google search I've tried results in nothing.

It's published in several places on the web. It's so not cool to be Illiterate and Out of Style.

Have a link? You say it's published in several places but I can't find a single one. Please, share the wealth.

Here is one of several articles that suggested it:

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000123323/article/philadelphia-eagles-cleveland-browns-back-at-square-one

The story also links to another article that says:

"NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported the Cleveland Browns met again with Syracuse coach Doug Marrone, two sources said. The Browns now are trying to decide who they prefer: Kelly or Marrone."

Lovie had question marks too

Lovie can coach at a high level in the the NFL; he's proven that beyond a shadow of a doubt. The others, including Marrone ..... are flip a coin and hope types.

Thank you sir!!

That explains the browns. Anyone have a link on the eagles having Marrone as their #2?

Add another collegiate name to the Eagles' list of head coaching candidates.

Chip Kelly of Oregon is their top choice, according to NFL sources, with Bill O'Brien of Penn State on the radar. But the Eagles are also expected to target Doug Marrone of Syracuse, two league sources said Tuesday.

I'm not sure why you are trying so hard.

I'd rather have the coach I know nothing about than the coach I think would've failed. I apply the same logic in liking Marrone over Lovie, Horton, McCoy, Gruden, and Cowher, some of the names we've seen interviewed and/or mentioned here.

Agree with your comparison to folks on that list except for Horton. Horton is as much an unknown as Marrone and has been successful running a defensive program in Arizona. I would have been happy with a Horton hire too.

Dude. I know they were interested in him. I want to know if the rumor is true that he was there #2 option. That is all. None of your links say anything about that. Are you even following the conversation?

I'm not trying hard at anything. Get over yourself. I just want a link backing up what people are saying.

Alright man. I must just not be hearing where they say he was their #2 option. No big deal.

How has he proven this? Sure his defense has always been top 5 if not top 3 in the league almost every year, but you can't ignore the fact that he's NEVER fixed the holes on the team. Every year, that team has struggled at QB play and offensive line play. Playing OC carousel every year like he's never the guy to blame. Sorry but I've never liked Lovie as HC. Great defensive mind but he's the same as Rex Ryan but with different personalities.

Plus, I can't get past the fact that the Bears have gotten off to two hot starts in 2011 and 2012, only to fall apart down the stretch.

He's just as responsible for the failures of the Bears on offense, as Chan has been for the failures of the Bills on defense. These coaches just can't seem to understand a head coach must oversee everything. It's another reason I really like the Marrone hire; although he's an "offensive" guy (never met him, personally, but it is what it is) he didn't call the plays at SU so he "gets it" about being the "CEO" of the team.

To be fair, the Bears lost Cutler last year and about 6 starters this year, including Forte for a while and Urlacher. That has to mean something.

significant injuries to our team aren't valid excuses, so they shouldn't be for the Bears either...

That is one thing that has always been annoying on TBD, if I typed on here that today is monday even though every newspaper and Sports news show is saying it is monday, someone is going to come on and LINK, LINK, LINK, LINK......... It would be different if it was the only place that bit of info was being heard from, but it is just the opposite in this case.
