TallskiWallski83 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Per Rotoworld.com Paul Posluszny set the Jaguars unofficial franchise record for tackles (231), breaking Hardy Nickerson's 2001 record of 230. The Jacksonville coaching staff was liberal in their tackle count, also awarding WLB Russell Allen (201) the third-highest total in franchise history. The Florida Times-Union suggests there may have been some "fuzzy math" on Posluszny's total, as he broke Nickerson's record by one tackle. Posluszny graded out near the bottom of Pro Football Focus' ratings for 2012. Poz is terrible in coverage and was never worth the $ the Jags gave him. The bills screw up a lot resigning their own guys but they made the right decision letting him walk away.

Yeah, we have Sheppard and his 75 tackles and his cement shoes on third down passing plays.....
The Wiz Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 He always led the team in tackles... since the front 4 never stopped anything while he was here.
EmotionallyUnstable Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 200+ tackles huh? Welp, guess someone on that D has to make them... Good riddance.
NoSaint Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 good to know for idp fantasy leagues - jags hand out tackles like candy. i know we had a rep for that too, and used it wisely. we gave out like 1.5 tackles per play while league average was 1.2 per play one season! (i forgot the actual numbers, but remember it being like an extra tackle every 3-4 plays being awarded)
JPS Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 But we get, "43 is the Mike!" Can well all agree that we never want to hear Brady shout that again? Or any opposing QB?
Homey D. Clown Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Agreed, I do not miss his 5 - 10 yard downfield tackling skills one bit.
JM57 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Who wants to bet he made them all 8 yards downfield
mrags Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Who wants to bet he made them all 8 yards downfield you beat me too it. Well, at least we can say "Poz Breaks another bone next season"
kabnt2005 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 That's odd considering Luke Kuechly led the league in tackles with 164...
NoSaint Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 That's odd considering Luke Kuechly led the league in tackles with 164... tackles, i believe, are still not an official stat.
ddaryl Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 (edited) that usually happens with a real bad defense. What it means is the Jags D was on the feild a whole lot more then the offense. Poz is good but more tackles is a very deceptive stat In fat it looks like an average of 5 minutes more per game on D http://www.nfl.com/t...istics?team=jac Edited January 4, 2013 by ddaryl
ACor58 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 231 tackles my butt. NFL.com has him at a little more than half of that total (http://www.nfl.com/player/paulposluszny/2495712/profile)
dhg Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Easy to do if your defense is on the field the whole game.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 He's got the prototypical big neck for a linebacker. I think for an LB he's got a good build generally but I wonder how long his career will last. He's absorbed a lot of punishment.
