What job is perfect? You forgot to mention "lease ensures team stays put for at least 7 years." We are certainly more attractive than 3 years ago.

The fact that if he can get a winning season/playoffs the first/second season will make him the second coming of Christ in Buffalo and that Russ has the salesman way of focusing on the good things and making the bad things not so bad alone would make me consider taking the job. When you factor in everything else, I see it as one of the more attractive places to get a new HC job this season

I would have considered the newly added bolded, underlined, and italicized under negative miscellaneous also.

If I'm a HC candidate what do I see?

I see a brown bear looking at me!

Anyone with kids can appreciate that.

Biggest negative is unstable ownership. Most of the time, new ownership = new head coach.

I have a feeling Brandon is privy to some things he can share in confidence with any HC candidate who has those concerns.

leaving out the ownership situation kind of submarines the whole post, honestly. 94 year old owner without public succession plan is a major issue that needs to be addressed with anyone coming on.

i think there are some behind closed doors answers that could be shared in the right situation, but to totally ignore that issue in a pro/con of the job isnt honest.

i had a sneaking suspicion that they might have doled some of that information with mario. giving 100m and a long term commitment, he likely wanted some sort of assurance that he wouldnt be moving cities and auditioning for new ownership in 6 months (i know that sounds morbid, but its a reality).

What a difference 3 years makes. There are 2 dozen coaches reportedly inquiring about the Bills Job this year versus 3 years ago when there were tumbleweeds in the Bills inbox. Guess Buddy did add some depth and talent to the roster afterall. This job is now attractive and the interest by these coaches shows it.

Seriously, if I'm an HC candidate, I see an opportunity to forge a legend in one of only 32 available positions in the world.

Getting a great defensive coach and Chip Kelly would be huge. I don't care who has the title for head coach, but Kelly would have a ball with our OL and CJ. And a good defensive coach could do wonders for this team.

You should not be able to make a statement like this without a link.

A challenge to anybody who relishes that kind of problem. A team that doesn't know how to win. That IS a skil, and is know to winners. We haven't seen that since the glory days.

New ownership= new GM, president, HC.

If this new job title for Brandon doesn't involve actually creating, and building a winning franchise. Then I can envision everybody being gone with new ownership.

It starts with a finding new 'winning" HC and QB, a very daunting task for even someone who already is a top NFL executive.

Your right sorry. I read it on the articles TBD posts. When I find the article I will post the link.

Awesome. It's exactly what I thought when I read thread title.

If I'm a sought after coach, I look for the team with a franchise QB. If I'm a retread, I latch on where ever I can.

Thank you for a well thought post.

The only thing I will do wrt your list is agree with the poster who cited the weather, and question 2 of the 3 negatives.

The wr corps needs more than depth. After SJ, they are pedestrian at best. An injury to #13 would make them perhaps the worst in the NFL. The LB corps, although I haven't seen them all, probably IS the worst in the NFL. Coming into the season, Barnett was good. Now, no LB is. They are all terrible. A coach/GM would have to fill these 2 gaping holes, AND get us a qb. This would seem to be a daunting task.

Long time fans like you and I know what to look for. If Goodell strolls up to the podium and announces that the Bills select Dee Milner at #8, all is lost for many more seasons. We need to fill the above holes, and most of all field a good quarterback to play this new brand of football.

Jmo.
