JimKelly4President Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Bottom line is, Stevie Johnson and CJ are one of the best WR/RB combos in the league maybe Harvin/AP is better but not by much after what I saw this season. All these guys need is a QB and they breakout
NoSaint Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 (edited) just thinking out loud for other rb-wr combos..... arian foster - andre johnson? ray rice - boldin/smith? forte - marshall mccoy - desean chris johnson - britt (possibly past prime and a head case but worthy of a mention) could probably argue that nicks/cruz or jones/white are both good enough to make up for the dropoff to bradshaw or turner charles/bowe is likely done (but might be the closest to us, especially without a qb) Edited January 2, 2013 by NoSaint
Kipers Hair Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 I think your analysis actually makes a stronger case for the need for a QB...or even on a larger scale a good defense. Just ask KC where Jamal Charles and Dwayne Bowe got them without a QB. Or, if you prefer, Doug Martin and Vincent Jackson in Tampa - pretty sure they both have more rushing and receiving yards respectively....point is without a QB, you can have the best WR and RB in the world and still not be a playoff team. Megatron is today's best WR and Leshoure is no slouch at RB...but even with a good QB, no playoffs. A good WR/RB combo means diddly these days.
K-9 Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 I don't know. When I think "offense of the future" I see hover boards and jetpacks and all sorts of Jetsons crap like that. GO BILLS!!!
filthymcnasty08 Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 All we are is one QB shy of the offense of the future title eh?.....welp....should be easy then

NoSaint Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Needs more robots and stuff. and a laser rocket arm qb.

JPS Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Flashes of performance do not earn the title of the best. Doing it consistently and in the clutch does. SJ is good, not great. CJ might be great, but he, for whatever reason, is not yet. But god, yes, they'd be better with a QB. So would every member of the team and coaching staff.

I get where you're going with CJ, and there's different ways to determine great. He's never going to be Foster or Peterson great, he's just not that kind of runner. Also great is often tied with longevity. But he has greatness in him and that's not debatable IMO.
