Am I the only one coming to defend Nix here? Yes? Fine then.

Ok, Nix hasn't done a phenomenal job. And if there is some legendary guru scout out there who is willing to come to Buffalo and do the job then we should look into it, but I don't see a large stock of those.

Nix, while certainly with his flaws, did manage to get Mario Williams here (who had a 10+ sack season), got three very solid first round picks in Spiller (now a premiere back), Dareus (had a great rookie year before a sophomore slump) and Gilmore (who climbed to the top of the depth chart as a rookie, more than can be said of McKelvin). He quietly built a very solid O-line, proved that Carrington at the very least is a solid backup who can block field goals, and negotiated good deals with some of our veterans.

He, rightfully, deserves some **** for Fitz and Chan, but overall we've done a lot worse.

just confirming you already settled it, and its now fact. he didnt seem to believe you, asking who he was in the very next post.

Thank you for making it fact.

considering he changed story in a mere 14 minutes, i dont think he should be predicting impending doom for anybody publicly.

OMG, that's it. Tim Graham is really the Mayans from the future telling us were all doomed.

Nix is indicted for hiring Gailey and then allowing him to hitch the Bills wagon to Fitz with no viable backup and no QB of the future when it was glaringly obvious to most that Fitz is severely limited. The most important player position in the NFL is by far QB. Gross miscalculation and ultimately a colossal failure. Nix also whiffed on 2nd round picks Aaron Williams with Andy Dalton on the board and Torrell Troup. He then traded up for T J Graham which looks like a questionable move. I'd like to see a GM who knows how to maneuver in the draft more adeptly.

He has done pretty well with street FA signings like Chandler, Urbik, Pears, et al. and also Mario Williams as a sought after UFA.

Bottom line, I think it's time for a new GM.

i mean... am i the only one that thinks TG should be held to a bit higher standard than:

"buddys meeting with ralph" pause - a few minutes later "actually brandons meeting with ralph - someones about to get canned"

he is an actual reporter after all.

While some of what you say is true, Graham is a good WR who needs to learn to run routes and catch a little better. But he put up much better numbers than Moulds did his rookie year. Williams too was a 2nd rounder which isn't an assurred winner at CB. That said, you have to go back to that draft and realize DB's were flying off the shelf and we needed one bad. His hands were tied and got the best one available at the time. In addition we had plenty of injuries at DB this season whcih also hurt.

@ByTimGraham

Buddy Nix is meeting with Ralph Wilson tonight in Michigan. The Bills aren't going to arrange coach interviews until the GM domino falls.

Good enough source?

Feeling a bit vindicated on this point. You can't multitask as far as bringing in coaching candidates when the guy selecting them isn't settled.
