stony
that would be a much better first tweet, than third. not a good showing at all. Nosaint, you've been quite the Richard Dietsch (sp) lately lol
mrags
That's right. Something just got me. Ralph summoned Russ all the way to Detroit to meet with him on New Year's Eve? Doesn't this sound like something Russ would have laughed at and said "Ralph, we suck, were barely recognizable as an NFL team. We can worry about this on Wednesday, I'm getting hammered tonight with my Bitches!!!"
Dr. Trooth
Nix has not been seen all day. Therefore, how do we know that Nix did not make an earlier flight to Detoit and Russ joined them later? Too much bulls#it floating around and no damn facts.... except Chan and the coaching staff are out.
GG
A pick at the top of the second round is close enough to the first round that it had better be a hit. Period. And Nix whiffed bigtime on that pick. Try defending the following dubious personnel decisions: - Selecting Torrell Troup when Buffalo native Rob Gronkowski was on the board (went to the Pats with the very next pick) - Selecting Maruc Easley when Aaron Hernandez was on the board (went to the Pats 6 picks later) - Selecting a "kickoff specialist" John Potter in the 7th around rather than take a flyer on a high quality free agent like Vontaze Burfict, when LB was the weakest position on the team. Burfict is playing very well for the playoff-bound Bengals. - Failing to take a developmental QB, passing on Andy Dalton, Russell Wilson, Kirk Cousins, Brock Osweiler to name a few. - Trading for Travaris Jackson and not activating him for a single game, all the while paying him $3M+ to sit. - Making a waiver claim on Shawne Merriman, whom the Chargers deemed expendable, signing him to an extension, and ignoring the LB position in subsequent drafts. - Having a big, physical 6-5 220 point receiver Danario Alexander in for a tryout after the David Nelson injury only to determine that the team was better off with a scrub like Ruvell Martin. Alexander went onto catch 7TDs in 10 games for the Chargers. Talent evaluation is a major weakness and has been for quite some time. Nix should be retained as a scout, but he should definitely not be retained as a general manager. You forgot letting a borderline pro bowl safety walk at a bargain price. :-)

San Jose Bills Fan
that's funy as hell, that's the first time I actually laughed out load on this site lol You mean all those other times you wrote "LOL" you were lying? damn. You got me. That's how I knew that. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
purple haze
considering he changed story in a mere 14 minutes, i dont think he should be predicting impending doom for anybody publicly. He might be right though. At this point the silence at OBD, especially after a firing, is not a good sign for Nix. Dawgg
You forgot letting a borderline pro bowl safety walk at a bargain price. :-) Perhaps. But Whitner and his representatives would not have taken "bargain money" to stay with the Bills, the very franchise that valued him as a top-10 selection 5 years earlier. The more egregious error IMO (and this falls on Marv, not Nix) was his selection at #8 in the first place! Especially with Cutler and Ngata available and begging to be taken Edited December 31, 2012 by Dawgg

Meathead
RF was the 19th highest paid QB. He did not get big money for the position. very valid point

NoSaint
He might be right though. At this point the silence at OBD, especially after a firing, is not a good sign for Nix. Even if he happens to be right, at a time when he's getting conflicting reports to the point that he's contradicting himself.... He probably shouldn't be putting an impending doom prediction out there. Could be true, but definitely poor form.
papazoid
the AP reported that Buddy Nix was at the Buffalo Bills facility in its story. jw http://www.news1130....losing-seasons/ CEO Russ Brandon has been unhappy with the criticism levelled at the Bills, and how it’s translated into poor ticket sales. Buffalo failed to sell out its four final home games. One option is for the Bills to make a splash in hiring their next head coach, as they attempted in their previous search. (doesn't look good for nix if he is not in that meeting with russ and ralph). Edited December 31, 2012 by papazoid

BillnutinHouston
The actual report is that Nix will not meet with Wilson, but Brandon will. No - WGR 20-20 sports just reported "Nix expected to met with Ralph tonight in Detroit". Not sure if that was just sloppy recycling of earlier erroneous reports, or an actual clarification/update.
