I'm hoping this is false, but if true I'll find a way to be happy about it.

It's just a guy with a Bleacher Report blog--- he's simply writing what is being reported as "conventional wisdom" in the hopes of generating hits to his latest slideshow. If he's wrong, he can spin it. If Whisenhunt is hired, he looks connected.

He's not.

FWIW (probably not much) he followed it up by saying he got this from a "very trusted source" within the Bills organization.

If this were true, why wouldn't the coaching search already be over. Russ Brandon said on Tuesday if they identify a guy that they think is the right hire, he'll be hired. Not as if teams are lining up to get Whisenhunt as their next HC, so of course he'd want the job.

Not buying it because they'd essentially be wasting time with Ray Horton, Chip Kelly, Lovie Smith, Mike McCoy, Doug Marrone and any other potential hire if the decision was already made.

Well, because Wiz might not have decided that he wants the job? He might want to pursue other options.

I have no idea. He might think he has a shot at San Diego, or Philly if they lose out on Kelly, or Chicago - who knows? The report says "his if he wants it".

As a fall back candidate, yes. As the league's hot, available, gotta go get him candidate. No way!
