Big Turk
In my opinion he is not built for that. Too small. Would it surprise you that he also led the NFL in yards after initial contact then?
CodeMonkey
Would it surprise you that he also led the NFL in yards after initial contact then? No because that was generally in the open field and after faking the "first contact" out of his jock and running through an outstretched arm. No room for that running up the gut. Dorkington
Yeah, first contact doesn't mean slamming into a DT at the line. In CJ's case, it's often times finger tips of an outstretched defender who has already missed his chance at the tackle.
Charles Romes
Hate to rain on everyone's parade about CJ, but the cold hard fact is he utterly blew a historic season in terms of YPA yesterday. He went into the game averaging 6.48 YPA which would have placed him first all time since like 1940 and came limping home at an also ran 6.01 (not even the team record). He lost a half a yard in YPA in one game!!! Adding insult to injury is the fact that he could not even hold onto the YPA rushing title which he had a commanding lead on all year. AP finished at 6.02 to CJ's 6.01. We are so used to seeing our players fold in crunch time no one in this thread even realizes CJ's tragic and epic collapse yesterday. You might need to start taking perspective supplements or something.
