Fan in San Diego Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I'm flip flopping on firing Chan, but at the minimum we need a new DC and QB.
Meathead Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 well if ralph could lure one of the established names then id certainly prefer that. but if they cant attract a top prospect then letting this staff have another shot isnt the worst thing. perhaps im just stubborn, or perhaps worried we will just get another moobs, but i cant help but think the coaching they have now should be good enough. chan probably does have to get a real oc so he can focus more on being a real hc, but he does know how to put together an offense. pornstachios defense certainly was a massive dissappointment, but hes had good defenses far more often than not and i cant imagine hes washed up in that role. if we cant get a clearly better staff then i think the odds are higher this staff could pull a quick turnaround than an all new 2nd or 3rd tier coaching group the way most fans are feeling, selling tickets might force ralph to change just for the sake of change, but im not sure that alone is necessarily a good idea on the field
kasper13 Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 I think if that happened, people would just start to stay away in droves. Ticket sales would drop way off, fan support would be at a new low. Think 76-77, 84-85. Those would seem like the good old days. This place would get even...... stranger. There is no incentive at all to keep spending money on this team now that the lease has been signed, they aren't leaving for at least 7 years and probably not at all. They want a new stadium. The only reason to buy tickets now is to watch a good team. 4-12. 6-10. 6-10. That's not good. Chan is not the man. He isn't getting better at anything. Same with Buddy. Same with Fitzpatrick. Time for them all to go away. Blows my mind it's even a question.
FLFan Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 I WILL NOT WATCH THE BILLS IF CHAN IS THE COACH. I HAVE NOT WATCHED A BILLS GAME SINCE THE RAMS GAME AND WILL NOT WATCH THEM AGAIN. IF CHANS THE COACH I WILL ROUTE FOR THE JAGS. Please go cheer for the jags. Thank you
bowery4 Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 I love the Bills and like Chan, NIx and even Fitz but I won't be very interested if Chan, Fitz (especially as the starter for next season) and Wanny are back. I didn't even watch today (first time since a Jets game for Dicky's team when he was kept on for season 4), knew they would win and screw up the draft order again. I am kind of pissed right now!
BillnutinHouston Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 I will be very angry if Chan/Wannstedt are retained, but I will keep my tickets and Sunday Ticket regardless. I love the Bills and will support them from afar as long as I can. I think Buddy will stay, and I'm fine with that.
billsfan_34 Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Gailey will be gone by mid-week. Take it to the bank. And that likely won't even be the most significant change of the off-season. What makes you say this?
Fixxxer Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 ReallY??? Did he recognize good coaching when he picked Gailey/Modkins/Edwards/Wanny? How about Troup over Gronk, TJ Graham over Wilson? How about that Aaron Williams? How about passing on every QB in last year's draft not named RG or Luck? How about the 2010 draft (minus Spiller)? How about picking up Merriman off IR, dropping him after 2 useless seasons, then picking back up for a 3rd? Nix is, generously, a mediocre evaluator of talent. Yes, really. No GM is infalible. I hated that him and Gailey went exclusively the Fitz route without a serious plan B, but I always try to be objective with my opinion, he has done many things the right way. Troupe over Gronk, what player had red flags medically that year? TJ Graham over Wilson? I believe they could have drafted him, it would have been a slam dunk, but it is easy to say this now. Aaron Williams, so far he has been a big failure, I would have loved for Nix to draft Kaepernick with this pick, it made too much sense for Gailey's offense. Nix built a good core of players but faied to bring in a QB to develop and now he might have to pay it with his job. I would understand if he's fired but I would be glad if we keep him.
Patience Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 What makes you say this? I've posted sporadically about updates regarding this topic. It's difficult to say when it will be announced, but something significant has been in the works for at least the past eighteen months.

It's difficult to say when it will be announced, but something significant has been in the works for at least the past eighteen months. It certainly doesn't involve on-field performance!
