NoSaint Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 anyone know what we finished this year at spending wise (ie whats getting rolled over)
BuffaloBillsMagic1 Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Getting rid of Fitz, Thiggy, TJ, Kelsay, McGee a few others should get us to about 20 million under cap....
NoSaint Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Getting rid of Fitz, Thiggy, TJ, Kelsay, McGee a few others should get us to about 20 million under cap.... all that comes with cap hits too - so not a clean 20m in the end im guessing enough to resign our own, and add a good player in FA still (and possibly a role player or two).
SBUffalo Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 all that comes with cap hits too - so not a clean 20m in the end im guessing enough to resign our own, and add a good player in FA still (and possibly a role player or two). Well Thigpen is already a free agent, so I'm not sure why he pointed out getting rid of him. Cutting TJ is ridiculous, he's a damn rookie. Agree with the rest, though. But cutting those guys isn't going to bring us very much cash. Kelsay is the only guy that would give us any cap room there. Cutting George Wilson and/or Brad Smith would bring us the most cap space of cuttable people.
NoSaint Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 (edited) Well Thigpen is already a free agent, so I'm not sure why he pointed out getting rid of him. Cutting George Wilson and/or Brad Smith would bring us the most cap space of cuttable people. I'm guessing he meant tarvaris Jackson by tj Cutting fitz seems to not free a ton of cap space The free agents are already wiped in those numbers in the op Leaves Kelsey (probably saves a couple mil). McGee likely doesn't save a ton. Smiths savings would likely be a year away primarily if cut today (would save some though). You'd have to replace guys too, which isn't free. We're in respectable cap shape. Enough that we can do real work, but not so much that we will be huge players. Edited December 28, 2012 by NoSaint
LandShark13 Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 I'm not sure where the OP came up with the 7 Mil cap space for the Phins. All reports I have read have us entering 2013 with over 45 Million in cap space. Granted we have a few of our FA's we will look to resign but even if we sign all of them it should leave us with a ton of cap space still to spend on FA's. Add to that 5 picks in the first 3 rounds (10 total) and it should be an exciting offseson for the Fish. LINK
boyst Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Can we edit this to have Buffalo players highlighted as another color, please? Maybe even a full list of Buffalo free agents? Thanks Mellaman, good work. I have to think over some of this...

GO BILLS!!! http://nyjetscap.com...s/bills2012.php There is a jets fan who does an AMAZING job with the salary cap. Info is there on anything you'll need to know for any team. Bills Adjusted Salary Cap Limit: $134,519,902 Current Bills Total: $124,629,151 Current Estimated Cap Space: $8,269,215 Current Estimated Cash Spend: $129,410,453 My math shows just over $9.8mm... but his shows $8.3. 7 players giving us just a bit over $13mm in dead money, Maybin, Evans, Merriman, Moorman, Florence, Morrison, Hangartner. buffalo1983 Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 By cutting Fitz the Bills will save $500,000 but he will still be 10Mill against the cap.

San Jose Bills Fan Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Thanks Mellaman. Can you provide a link as per the rules of useage? Also it might have saved you a lot of work to simply provide the link. But thanks regardless. http://nyjetscap.com...s/bills2012.php 7 players giving us just a bit over $13mm in dead money, Maybin, Evans, Merriman, Moorman, Florence, Morrison, Hangartner. Thanks Farmer. This is the link I keep in my favorites. Like you say, the guy does a great job. As for the dead money, correct me if I'm wrong but all of that dead money stays on the books for one year (accelerates) and then clears up cap space the next year? If so, that's a lot of cap space freeing up.

Buffalo Barbarian Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Peyton Hillis will make a great FB in our new West Coast Offense. Mitch Unrein and Connor Barwin would be good additions to the DL
