San Jose Bills Fan Posted December 18, 2012 Author Posted December 18, 2012 Also they're apparently in preliminary talks with Byrd, as previously reported.
jahnyc Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 This is interesting. I wonder if they also will try to sign Levitre, or does this mean that they will sign Urbik and let Levitre leave.
Formerly Allan in MD Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Who would want to play for the Bills (under Wilson) unless they feel they're not good enough to start elsewhere in the league? Is depression that appealing?
NoSaint Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 This is interesting. I wonder if they also will try to sign Levitre, or does this mean that they will sign Urbik and let Levitre leave. That wouldn't make sense as a plan. It may happen but it almost certainly can't be the goal.
Meathead Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 of the two id rather keep byrd and let cialis walk. would love to have them both of course but fact is its easer to replace a really good guard than a really good safety
Dean Cain Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 will be interesting to see how much they ink Urbik for. Signing Byrd will leave the door open to franchise Levitre if necessary.
ganesh Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 of the two id rather keep byrd and let cialis walk. would love to have them both of course but fact is its easer to replace a really good guard than a really good safety Levitre has been the lone stand out on this line that has played all the games without an injury. Levitre and Wood are the center piece of this line and the Bills simply cannot let him walk. No good NFL player is easy to replace irrespective of the position. This is interesting. I wonder if they also will try to sign Levitre, or does this mean that they will sign Urbik and let Levitre leave. Urbik plays on the right side and Levitre plays on the left. Why does one sign and the other left to go to FA. If anything, wouldn't you want to sign your best player on the line.

Couldn't have said it better myself. This is the best O-Line the Bills have had for some time, and we need to keep this unit together. Re-signing Urbik would be a good start.

San Jose Bills Fan Posted December 18, 2012 Author Posted December 18, 2012 http://espn.go.com/n...4-year-15m-deal 4 years $15 million. Good signing. Boy I needed to hear some good news regarding the Bills.
Estro Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I might be reading too much into this, but........ Resigning players at this stage in the game, also indicates to me, that Buddy Nix and Whaley are not going to get the axe. If the hammer was going to come down on our GM do you think he'd still be negotiating deals with players that the next GM might not even want? Probabaly not. So, just a hunch but based on Nix still hammering out deals at this point, I wouldn't count on him going anywhere. Nice resigning of Urbik BTW.
Dean Cain Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 (edited) I'm all for rebuilding & strengthening our line. Our right side has been weak this year. 0 rushing tds between RG & RT & outside RT. Lets resign Levitre & Byrd & bring in a guy like Jake Long who would be a great RT for us. Cut Pears & retain Hairston. Edited December 18, 2012 by BigCountryBills

Who would want to play for the Bills (under Wilson) unless they feel they're not good enough to start elsewhere in the league? Is depression that appealing? as bad as we have been people by nature are loyal and like where they are ... same reason we are still fans.

nucci Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Who would want to play for the Bills (under Wilson) unless they feel they're not good enough to start elsewhere in the league? Is depression that appealing? There's only 32 teams in the league and so many positions available. You have a job and a contract offer you take it. Why do players sign with Cleveland, Arizona, Jax, KC, Detroit.......
DukeyBomb Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Who would want to play for the Bills (under Wilson) unless they feel they're not good enough to start elsewhere in the league? Is depression that appealing? Why wouldn't a player stay loyal to a team that scoured other teams practice squads for them, gives them a chance to be the starter, starts over another good guard name Rinhart, plays with other fantastic players that have superb chemistry and blocks for two great backs. The prospect of having to go to another team for ABOUT the same amount is not intriguing. These players know Buddy Nix is making the right moves getting the team where it needs to be, they aren't dumb. Now Levitre is a slightly different story only because he could make Carl Nicks money.
artmalibu Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Signing Andy will take a lot more momey than Urbik. Andy might want to hear offers from other teams too. Good signing, still more work ahead.
