TheFunPolice Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Ralph isn't really doing the things an owner needs to do, and that is the major problem now He isn't at the owners' meetings... he isn't at games... he isn't in the locker room and around the team like owners need to be Instead, we have people who really don't have the power of an owner trying to do the job of an owner
Joe W Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 He hasn't even made any type of public statement other thsn the dopey statement he made at theHall of Fame in August. Are we sure he's not just sitting preserved in a fruit cellar in Gross Pointe Unfortunately the team cant be sold until he dies - tax reasons,
Canks Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 How has Roger Goodell's name not come up yet? He's clearly the WORSTEST.

He isn't the only owner in pro sports who isn't at owners meetings, there are plenty of other teams in pro sports who have people that attend those meetings in place of the actual owner

GG Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 How has Roger Goodell's name not come up yet? He's clearly the WORSTEST. Nah, that would be Gary Bettman
TheFunPolice Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 he might be the only owner who is physically not capable of running his team
EasternOHBillsFan Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 (edited) Alex Spanos or Bud Adams, by far.... they are ruining their franchises and I don't think they have a CLUE... Jerry Jones is fast becoming a bad owner, IMO... Monte Kiffin to replace Ryan??? What a fool. Edited January 11, 2013 by BmoreBills
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Is Ralph the worst owner in the NFL? Is there an owner you would not trade him for? carolinas Richardson talk abut a tight wad
Nitro Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Ralph Wilson is a decent man whvalued loyalty above on field production (unfortunate failing). There is a long list of owners with whom I would not trade him for various reasons: Jerry Jones (Dallas), Bill Bidwell (Arizona), Jerry Richardson (Carolina), Mike Brown (Cincy), William Clay Ford (Detroit), Jimmy Irsay (Indy), Stephen Ross (Miami), Ziggy Wilf (Minn), Alex Spanos (San Diego), Bud Adams (Tenn) and Dan Snyder (Washington).

Russ Brandon stood up on New Years Day to say Ralph gave him the keys. Are you saying he's lying? Prove it. The Bills have hired 4 new coaches while the rest of the NFL is still looking for one. This has never happened before. We hire young up-n-comers. Never happened before. But you and the "realists" insist nothing has changed with the Bills. Ralph Wilson has risen a couple of notches as an owner by realizing he has to pass the torch. But some people are never happy. PTR
Big74Mac Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 This is a stupid topic. This tread needs closed.

PTR Umm... Note the date of composition of the post you're commenting on, PTR. That was before it all went down on 1 Jan. I'd venture to say that this poster's opinion has since shifted. That's not to say that his opinion prior to RW giving RB all of the keys is essentially wrong. Ralph was not physically capable of being the presence that an owner in the league needs to be. There's no word that he's not or will not be mentally capable --- and I'm not saying this is any kind of certain b/c, hey, my grandfather in WNY died at 96 but was still sharper than most 20 year olds I meet --- but the looming nature of all that may also have been a factor in his stepping down. RW had his own reasons, some of which probably align with what some here have said over the past 10 years. I appreciate that he finally recognized the need for someone to physically BE at OBD to oversee the ship and who has the legitimacy of "the buck stops here" when talking to people in the franchise. Any slight impression that Russ Brandon was a toadie for a doddering old man that he had to call to get permission to tie his shoes is now gone if it existed. All that remains is for an ownership transition plan that ensures the team stays and gets a new stadium by the Falls to really resurrect the franchise like the new Gilette Stadium did for the Patriots* ... and I'll be the first to call for them to build a 50-foot statue of Ralph there.
