So, the only thing about the cliff has to do with raising the debt limit? McConnell was accentuating the point that Obama was trying to get the ok to raise the debt limit himself without a vote, but with a vote required to prevent him from doing it, each time. Purely political. He can raise the limit at will, and it would be the big bad repubs preventing our country from staying afloat. Reid refuses to even bring his party's presidents proposal to a vote because he wants to protect his members from having to make controversial votes. Raise taxes = yes Increase gov't spending = yes Refuse to consider sensible spending cuts = yes Remove congressional approval to increase debt ceiling = yes Create and expand healthcare entitlement = yes Leave SS alone, maintain path to insolvency = yes Leave Medicare on path to insolvency = yes Leave next President $20T in debt = yes Give illegal immigrants an easy path to citizenship = yes Could I go on ad on = you're damn right!
