CodeMonkey Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 (edited) 2600+ seats available on Sunday on StubHub, and people are getting desperate. A pair in Sec 114 row 5 for $24 each. It's gettin' ugly out there. Edited November 28, 2012 by CodeMonkey
Never NEVER Give-up Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Sunday's forecast - Rain & 53 degrees. I think I read somewhere that a Russ Salvatore or Channel 4 can purchase all the remaining tickets for $.34 on the dollar (visitor's share of gate). If 15,000 remaining tickets cost an average of $45, that would equal approximately $230,000. I'm not sure if that's accurate, but if it is the question for Ch 4 would be - what is their ad revenue for a football game vs an infomercial? If the Bills are blacked out, we would NOT see a football game in that time slot on Ch 4.

According to the link on the first page: In his weekly appearance on WGR Sports Radio 550, Bills CEO Russ Brandon told The Howard Simon Show that Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars will in fact be blacked out on local television.
May Day 10 Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 The interviews with Brandon on GR are a huge waste of time. Rarely says anything of importance, but I was struck by one thing he talked about this morning. When they were asking him about the remaining home games and all the tickets left, which Brandon continually refers to as "inventory", he said they have historical data from the last 20 years of December home games and "for some reason" they have trouble selling those tckets. Really Russ? "For some reason"? Geez, what do you think that reason might be? Just a wild guess, but maybe its because the teams for the most part have stunk and are long out of the playoff picture by then. Im really sick and tired of this clown kicking crap in our face every time the franchise that he is in charge of falls short. It is a different time now than in the 90's. NFL football is more popular. According to Brandon himself, the Bills have "regionalized". The internet has streamlined buying and selling tickets. Deals can be rolled out for December to buy the tickets, put in a deposit on the following season and get playoff preference, etc. Brandon and the Bills need to stop using that as a crutch for their ineptitude. I have tickets for the rest of the season and I am done going to meaningless games.... brandon's comments are making me consider not renewing. I just cant take the back-talk with the blackouts and with Toronto.
BringBackFergy Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Just put my 3 tix on NFL Ticket Exchange...can't make it. Doesn't look too promising that they will sell.

Even in the good years (yeh, I remember them), the December games were a problem, and some of the Jim Kelly era games were blacked out. So, quality football isn't the sole answer. Of course, the answer is it the cold WEATHER. Brandon should know this, your answer misses the point as well.
bananathumb Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 GR will be happy. People will listen to the radio broadcast.

May Day 10 Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 (edited) Russ Brandon did such a great job of regionalization, it shouldnt be a problem selling out once the team isnt a perpetual joke. So it should be on the Bills to get their act together, not the fans. Edited November 28, 2012 by May Day 10
Jim in Anchorage Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 The worst thing about this is that it's Jacksonville. So now all those North Florida fans and national media will see those globs of blue empty seats and be gleefully saying "See, even Buffalo can't draw flies and they are supposedly a hardcore football market. Bills should be the one's to move to LA". No stadium looks worse than RWS when there are massive amounts of empty seats. Thats still 58.000 sold right? Does JX ever sell that many?

FreakPop Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 The blackout rule has got to go! That rule serves no purpose other than to squeeze every last penny out of the fan and hold them hostage by not showing the game on tv. Eff you NFL!

I just sold a pair of Lower level sidelines on Craiglist for $20 each. It's ridiculous. I'm lucky i didn't have to give them away. If they had beaten Indy it's amazing how much higher the level of interest would have been. You know Brandon was devastated when the Bills lost at Indy.
Jim in Anchorage Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Mr Russell Salvatore to buy them. He just bought TVs for all the hospital rooms at ECMC $195,000. How can that guy have that kind of dough from a restaurant? Is he associated with the Fino's?

billsfan714 Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Bills-Jags is the fight game equivilent of Chuck Wepner-vs-Duane Bobick.
