dib Posted November 26, 2012 Share Posted November 26, 2012 My Vaio shut down in the middle of a session, when I try to restart (even plugged in) I get a brief screen of the logo then nothing but a flashing cursor in the upper left screen. Fezmid Posted November 26, 2012 Share Posted November 26, 2012 Yeah, it should run if plugged in - you can confirm that it's bypassing the battery by disconnecting it and running without one at all. If it powers up at all, you're good there. Could be a hard drive problem -- try booting off of a CD/DVD (you might need to change the boot order to point to the optical drive first).
