truth on hold Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 (edited) The Beatles' audition tape famously rejected by a record executive in 1962 has finally been uncovered after 50 years. The fledgling group were told "they had no future in showbusiness" as guitar groups were "on the way out" following the audition. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/the-beatles/9695499/Rejected-Beatles-audition-tape-discovered.html Edited November 22, 2012 by Joe_the_6_pack
truth on hold Posted November 23, 2012 Author Posted November 23, 2012 Thanks very much for posting!!!! If they have distribution rights shouldnt it be worth a heck of a lot more than 30,000 Pounds (about $50,000)?
The Poojer Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 This news coupled with news of a new album of previously unreleased jimi hendrix is going to add some nice music to my collection http://www.nme.com/news/jimi-hendrix--2/67315
Helpmenow Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Jimi has alot stuff in his vaults, he did nothing but record
Nanker Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Jimi has alot stuff in his vaults, he did nothing but record Seems a wee mite overstatement if you ask me.
Buftex Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 These recordings have been available as bootlegs, for decades.... the orignial boot was called the "Decca-gone Sessions". Unless these are differenct versions of those same songs, which I don't believe to be the case. Sure, it woud be cool to hear them cleaned up, but the boots sound pretty good to. I only have them on vinyl, never did transfer them to disc, but I am sure somebody has.

Pete Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Hopefully everything Jimi recorded gets released. And I wonder if the executives that rejected the beatles, went on to GM the Portland Trailblazers- and proceeded to draft Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan

Fan in San Diego Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 In the vein of lost recordings. Did you know Pink Floyd performed live on the BBC during the Apollo 11 moon landings? Here is a link to a bootleg recording http://thelede.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/07/20/pink-floyds-moon-landing-jam-session/
