5 Wide Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 He hits the net from 50 in warm ups all the time. Its Chan's head thats weak, not lindells leg.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 I'm gonna have to take this from you. Please hand it over without a fight. We don't want anyone getting hurt. Sir, put down the phrase please and step back… haha--it's all yours. I still, however, have my patent pending on the term "chroise."
vincec Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 I have absolutely no problem with Lindell. I actually prefer to kick it high to one corner and invite the opponent to return it. The average opposing starting field position last season was inside the 25 yd line so what's the difference? Yes, you may get one taken back on you but you may also force a turnover. With the extra 5 yards on the kickoff the Bills made a lot of stops inside the 20. And he's is a solid FG kicker.
CardinalScotts Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 we passed on a 50 yarder to win ? In what game ?

Agreed, I don't watch stats on kickers but for the most part 40 yards and in the guy is money. Who cares if he's not knocking it through the end zone on kickoffs? I always thought that good special teams typically neutralize a run back threat. The now cut specialist was a huge waste of a roster spot. Gailey sucks as a HC and a roster manager.
Shoto Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Ryan Lindell is not the problem with this Team, in fact I BILLIEVE we should have more opportunies. Fix the Defense. Fix the QB, Blitz more than once a game. Get some stud linebackers
Billy in 4C Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Lindell's leg cost us a touchdown on the KR. The ball landed around the 10 freakin yardline with no wind. The dolphins returner had a running start and we had no chance. I'm suprised nobody has really brought this up.
billsevans Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 I have loved Rian Lindell and how reliable he has been for many years here in Buffalo. I think it is obvious that it's time to move on here as well, as the coaching staff is hesitant to attempt anything from 47 or longer. You just can't handicap yourself like that, and leave possible points on the board. The one name we should be going after right now is Nate Kaeding. He has a big leg, and when released a few weeks ago was the most accurate kicker in Chargers history. The move seems logical as Buddy likes getting his Chargers guys an opportunity here in Buffalo. I wanted the Bills to draft Blair Walsh last season, and he seems to be lighting it up from deep as well. Thoughts??
marauderswr80 Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 They ever give a reason why they didnt attempt that FG in indy? I was stunned when the punter come on! I like the points you make! Why was Keading let go?
mrags Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 It's been stated by Bulldog and Murphy that Lindell consistantly hits from over 50 in the stadium at warmups. Lindell has never had a HUGE leg but 50 yarders are doable even for him. They looked up the stats and showed that the percentage of 50+ yard field goals is over something like 60% for the season. It's not Lindell. It's Chan.
metzelaars_lives Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 15 of 16 on the season. It's time for him to go.
Dude Man Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Lindell is the least of the Bills' worries.

RyanC883 Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Lindell was hitting from that distance in pre-game warmups. There is no reason to think he can't make it from that distance. Chan, like Jauron, has no balls. Contrast that to Bill O' Brien, who went for it on a 4th and 6 vs. Wisconsin and ended up with a TD. You need to take caculated risks. Either go for it or kick a FG, but don't punt it. WEAk.

Why was Keading let go? yea Failey said "i liked the way our defense was playing and I wanted to pin them deep" - dumbass
mountainwampus Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 It's not fair to blame Lindell for not making kicks Chan wouldn't let him attempt. I seem to remember him hitting a lot of 50+ yard kicks in his career before Chan. His career pct for 50+ yarders is 54% (18 of 33), Kaeding is 59% (10 of 17). I say, let's move Chan at head coach first.
cantankerous Posted November 28, 2012 Author Posted November 28, 2012 I don't even think Lindell is to blame. I think Gailey is a retard. Lindell can kick 50 yarders. I thought maybe something was wrong with Rian, but I'm pretty sure it's Gailey that has something wrong with him. Once again we passed up on another makeable field goal last week...
ALLEN1QB Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 He is the one bright spot on this team give me a break.
Buftex Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 (edited) He hits the net from 50 in warm ups all the time. Its Chan's head thats weak, not lindells leg. Yeah...I gotta confess, the last few seasons are just a blur...but during the Colts game, the announcer seemed to be going on and on about Lindells' weak leg...and I am like "WTF? Lindell has an unusually weak leg? What did I miss?" I really think Chan is just too clever for our own good sometimes...but then I doubt my memory sometimes, as of late...glad I am not the only one surprised by this. Edited November 28, 2012 by Buftex
