Benghazi Suspect Captured by U.S. Forces

U.S. special forces reportedly captured Ahmed Abu Khattala, a main suspect in the September 11, 2012, Benghazi attacks over the weekend. Khattala was reportedly captured by the U.S. military, working in conjunction with the FBI, in Libya somewhere near Benghazi.

Khattala has been openly residing near Benghazi since the attacks, and has granted interviews to the U.S. media — including, most notoriously, to the New York Times’ David Kirkpatrick. In his interview with the Times, he said he was present at but not involved in the attacks on the U.S. diplomatic facility, and said he admired the global al-Qaeda network but didn’t have connections to it. Khattala told the Times he’s a part-time construction worker, but he is also apparently a leader of Ansar al-Sharia in Benghazi, a local militia.

If cnn can find him to interview and he hasn't exactly been hiding anywhere.....sounds like all we have been waiting for is the directive to get him.

Quick everyone forget about the IRS obamacare berghedahl and ISIL, look over here we caught the guy who caused that fake scandal. The video guy? No the other guy.

I look forward to his swift extradition to Qatar where he can be released on his own recognizance and can live out the rest of his natural life in peace and harmony in that Islamic paradise. The US needs to pay him reparations for his suffering brought about by a disgusting Internet video - which we had nothing to do with. [holder/kerry/obama]

What great timing! Hillary's on Fox News now talking about... Benghazi! What a tremendous coincidence!!!

What difference does it make now?

So, according to this book Hillary was coerced by Obama into the spontaneous demonstration lie?

However, when Hillary picked up the phone and heard Obama’s voice, she learned the president had other ideas in mind. With less than two months before Election Day, he was still boasting that he had al Qaeda on the run. If the truth about Benghazi became known, it would blow that argument out of the water.

“Hillary was stunned when she heard the president talk about the Benghazi attack,” one of her top legal advisers said in an interview. “Obama wanted her to say that the attack had been a spontaneous demonstration triggered by an obscure video on the Internet that demeaned the Prophet Mohammed.”

Modal Trigger

This adviser continued: “Hillary told Obama, ‘Mr. President, that story isn’t credible. Among other things, it ignores the fact that the attack occurred on 9/11.’ But the president was adamant. He said, ‘Hillary, I need you to put out a State Department release as soon as possible.’”

After her conversation with the president, Hillary called Bill Clinton, who was at his penthouse apartment in the William J. Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, and told him what Obama wanted her to do.

“I’m sick about it,” she said, according to the legal adviser, who was filled in on the conversation.

“That story won’t hold up,” Bill said.

“I know,” Hillary said. “I told the president that.”

“It’s an impossible story,” Bill said. “I can’t believe the president is claiming it wasn’t terrorism. Then again, maybe I can. It looks like Obama isn’t going to allow anyone to say that terrorism has occurred on his watch.”

Providing more fuel for the extremely politicized debate over whether the 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi was planned by terrorists or grew out of spontaneous protests, new documents released in the case of Ahmed Abu Khattala, the suspected ringleader captured in Libya last month, make no mention of the anti-Muslim YouTube video that sparked the demonstrations. In court papers filed on Tuesday, federal prosecutors say that Abu Khattala complained about the presence of an American facility in Benghazi several days prior to the attack, and was "motivated by his extremist ideology." Prosecutors added that he has "repeatedly expressed his hatred of Americans and his efforts to target American and Western interests."

Commanders Suggest A 2nd Group in Benghazi Attacks

Associated Press, by Donna Cassata & Bradley Klapper

Original Article

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Well-trained attackers executed the deadly dawn assault on a CIA complex in Benghazi, Libya, suggesting different perpetrators from those who penetrated the U.S. diplomatic mission the previous night, according to newly revealed testimony from top military commanders.

The initial attack, on Sept. 11, 2012, killed U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and communications specialist Sean Smith and set the mission ablaze. Nearly eight hours later at the CIA complex nearby, two more Americans, contract security officers Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, died in a mortar attack that showed clear military training, retired Gen. Carter Ham told Congress in closed-door testimony earlier this year.

The House Armed Services Committee released the testimony Wednesday.

The second assault probably was the work of a new team of militants who had seized on reports of violence at the diplomatic mission the night before and hit the Americans while they were most vulnerable, according to testimony that could clarify the events.
