Darn that Right wing ABC Darn that Right-Wing NBC Democrats Actively Working to Undermine Testimony of Benghazi Whistleblower NBC's Lisa Myers said this morning on TV that Democrats have been calling her to attempt to undermine the testimony of Benghazi whistleblower Gregory Hicks. "There is something called Benghazi going on," said Myers. "And I think the Democrats now are starting to worry about it. I started--I got calls from a number of Democrats yesterday trying to undermine Greg Hicks's testimony, saying he wasn't demoted, etc. So I think they feel that some damage was done by those three witnesses on Wednesday." http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/democrats-actively-working-undermine-benghazi-whistleblower_722036.html I thought Dana Milbank said nothing happened ? .........................................lol . Magox Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 (edited) ABCNEWS: Benghazi Talking Points Underwent 12 Revisions, Scrubbed of Terror Reference... Darn that Right wing ABC If you don't mind I'm going to quote some of what is in that ABC news report: When it became clear last fall that the CIA’s now discredited Benghazi talking points were flawed, the White House said repeatedly the documents were put together almost entirely by the intelligence community, but White House documents reviewed by Congress suggest a different story. ABC News has obtained 12 different versions of the talking points that show they were extensively edited as they evolved from the drafts first written entirely by the CIA to the final version distributed to Congress and to U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice before she appeared on five talk shows the Sunday after that attack. White House emails reviewed by ABC News suggest the edits were made with extensive input from the State Department. The edits included requests from the State Department that references to the Al Qaeda-affiliated group Ansar al-Sharia be deleted as well references to CIA warnings about terrorist threats in Benghazi in the months preceding the attack. That would appear to directly contradict what White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said about the talking points in November. “Those talking points originated from the intelligence community. They reflect the IC’s best assessments of what they thought had happened,” Carney told reporters at the White House press briefing on November 28, 2012. “The White House and the State Department have made clear that the single adjustment that was made to those talking points by either of those two institutions were changing the word ‘consulate’ to ‘diplomatic facility’ because ‘consulate’ was inaccurate.” Summaries of White House and State Department emails — some of which were first published by Stephen Hayes of the Weekly Standard — show that the State Department had extensive input into the editing of the talking points. State Department spokesman Victoria Nuland raised specific objections to this paragraph drafted by the CIA in its earlier versions of the talking points: “The Agency has produced numerous pieces on the threat of extremists linked to al-Qa’ida in Benghazi and eastern Libya. These noted that, since April, there have been at least five other attacks against foreign interests in Benghazi by unidentified assailants, including the June attack against the British Ambassador’s convoy. We cannot rule out the individuals has previously surveilled the U.S. facilities, also contributing to the efficacy of the attacks.” In an email to officials at the White House and the intelligence agencies, State Department spokesman Victoria Nuland took issue with including that information because it “could be abused by members [of Congress] to beat up the State Department for not paying attention to warnings, so why would we want to feed that either? Concerned …” The paragraph was entirely deleted. Edited May 10, 2013 by Magox
IDBillzFan Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 If you don't mind I'm going to quote some of what is in that ABC news report: I'm kind of stunned that's their front page Friday story.

And, the reason is: Kathy Sunshine and Bobby Happy have the story now. It's amazing that we've had to wait this long for the story to be reported properly, it's a credit to the Republicans for sticking to their guns, claiming the moral high ground and demanding real answers, and damn the political consequences, and it's a horrible failure for the MSM, having given their own credibility yet another self-inflicted gunshot wound. Magox Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 (edited) I'm kind of stunned that's their front page Friday story. No where to be found on the front pages of the NY Times, WAPO, and CNN http://www.cnn.com/ http://www.cbsnews.com/ http://www.washingtonpost.com/ http://www.nytimes.com/ Let me know if you guys see it on their front pages. However, what you will find are editorials and several opinion pieces attacking conservatives on Benghazi. Edited May 10, 2013 by Magox

OCinBuffalo Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 I am sure that they are still trying to execute a self-inflicted embargo of the story. They don't seem to realize that all this activity does is become cannon fodder for the conservative media. And their efforts will only succeed in making things worse for them, and Obama. They are manufacturing OUTRAGE!...but doing for the wrong side this time. It's like they really don't understand that this story isn't going away. They still think they have all the power. Not since Dan Rather, guys, not since Dan Rather.

keepthefaith Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 I'm kind of stunned that's their front page Friday story. Maybe ABC has figured out that there is a marketplace for the truth in their industry.
Magox Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 So the W.H held an "off-the-record" press briefing today. Whatever could they be telling them?
meazza Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 So the W.H held an "off-the-record" press briefing today. Whatever could they be telling them? I believe Jay Carney will announce that ABC is officially a right wing media outlet.
Chef Jim Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 So the W.H held an "off-the-record" press briefing today. Whatever could they be telling them? Way to make an already suspicious public less suspicious.
B-Man Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 So the W.H held an "off-the-record" press briefing today. Whatever could they be telling them? Discussion on their "transparency" ? ?
Magox Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 More like that they are passing out their talking points so that they can regurgitate their preferred narrative.
B-Man Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 While we’re on the subject of media collusion, what on earth does this mean? “Scandal is a strong word,” Roberts replied, to which Scarborough asked, “What is a couple notches below a scandal? Kerfuffle? Four people are dead.” “The first ambassador killed since 1979 — it is serious,” he continued. “You talk about overplaying your hand. If a lot of people on the far right hadn’t overplayed their hand on Benghazi and were screaming — before they knew what they were screaming about — I think we would all be much harder on the administration right now.” What ? ? ? ? Because the “far right” was screaming about Benghazi, you couldn’t judge for yourself whether it was a bona fide scandal? Or is he saying that he could judge, but chose not to because any scandal that might potentially vindicate the “far right” isn’t worth exploring unless/until there’s been six-to-eight months of revelations? I’ll leave you with this from loyal Clintonite water-carrier Paul Begala, the same hack troll who defended Harry Reid’s nasty conspiratorial smear about Mitt Romney’s tax returns last year: “I think the way [Hillary] has dealt with this has been admirable. And Republicans are treading awfully close to the tin foil hat.” http://hotair.com/archives/2013/05/10/white-house-holds-benghazi-briefing-with-reporters-off-the-record/
meazza Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 More like that they are passing out their talking points so that they can regurgitate their preferred narrative. Isn't the WH press corp leader from Fox?
IDBillzFan Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Anyone interested in watching the live on-the-record press briefing? Starts in two minutes. http://video.foxnews.com/v/1155606216001/
Magox Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Isn't the WH press corp leader from Fox? Yes. But what does that have to do with the rest of the media?
meazza Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Yes. But what does that have to do with the rest of the media? Well I'm guessing he won't accept the distributed talking points
