BuffaloBillsForever Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 This guy is playing great! Best DE on the team. Oh yeah and Merriman is better than Chris Kelsay. He played well tonight on the edge as well. But Kyle Moore, this guy is showing he can be an elite pass rusher in the league. What a great surprise he has been!
Fixxxer Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Merriman has talent and it shows at times, hopefully he doesn't suffer any setbacks. Moore really wants it and plays like it, nice pick-up by Nix.

CarolinaBill Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Hard to believe Moore bounced around for 5 yrs before landing in buffalo. He def has some good pass rush moves.

Simon Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Shame on me but I just don't know what so many people are seeing in this guy. He's been getting a ton of snaps this year and rarely produces tackles or pressures. He's been in the league since '08 and he's averaged about 1 tackle a game and has a career total of 2 sacks in 4 years He might serve as decent depth until we can find a younger player with more upside, but he's just filler in this league

Moore is doing what he needs but elite is hopefully not the storyline we hear after tonight. Hope he proves me wrong, as always when I'm a downer.
Dorkington Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 We have five pretty decent DEs IMO. At least when they play with energy and the coaches call decent plays.

Stevie, Urbik, etc are a cpl examples. Not saying he's great by any means but he's showing some promise
San Jose Bills Fan Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 I like what I see. He has that prototypical long athletic pass rush build and it seems like he's getting better every week. Also he plays with good pad level and body lean which minimizes the disadvantages of being a longer athlete.

I wouldn't call it being a downer; it's been obvious for a long time that you understand what you're watching and you're just being accurate and a realist. I really appreciate the kids effort and I'm happy for him that he's been able to keep a job in this league and make himself some scratch. But he's a non-factor in the run game and is usually well-handled by NFL OT's.
Rob's House Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Hard to believe Moore bounced around for 5 yrs before landing in buffalo. He def has some good pass rush moves. This is his 4th year. Played his 1st 2 in TB & came to Buffalo last year. He was pretty skinny when he came into the league. He's put on about 10 lbs which, along with experience, might explain his ascent.

PromoTheRobot Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Another player off the beach that worked out.
DrDawkinstein Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Definitely a nice surprise and a bright spot. I think his play helps raise up the rest of the DL. A keeper for sure!
Simon Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Well,, he's a pass rush specialist for a reason, he's always been a liability vs the run. A pass rush specialist with 2 sacks in 4 years? That might be a bit of a stretch.
TheBackupQB Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 All the more reason to play a 5-2 defense ...over a 4-3 ...Moore ans Williams would be increidble
BuffaloBillsForever Posted November 16, 2012 Author Posted November 16, 2012 (edited) All the more reason to play a 5-2 defense ...over a 4-3 ...Moore ans Williams would be increidble I thought Merriman and Moore were very good against the run today. An improvement over Kelsay and the other personnel schemes. Night and day for pressure on the quarterback. Moore was terrific getting pressure tonight. If Moore keeps this up you cut Kelsay at the end of the year. Edited November 16, 2012 by BuffaloBillsForever
